Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
graduate student at Boston College, also work at the BC Office of International Programs (Study Abroad Office)
ABOUT ME
I enjoy spending time with friends, exploring, running (ran the 2009 Tokyo Marathon and looking for my 4th now), hiking, travel, music, politics, movies... just having fun.
I'm originally from the Midwest (USA) but moved to Boston when I returned from Japan in August 2009. I spent 3 years teaching at a public high school in Kobe, and have also lived in Oslo, Norway as a student (2 years). I have been to about 40 countries and am a dual citizen with Greece.
I am an optimist person and love meeting new people. I hope to eventually combine my interests in education and law, and will be attending law school next year.
PHILOSOPHY
The world is much smaller than you realize and wherever you go, people are pretty much just, well, people. Go into things with an open mind.
Best piece of advice I ever got, though, was "never take a no from someone who doesn't have the authority to give you a yes".
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would love to host people, but I am currently living in a house with roommates that are not comfortable with the idea, so mostly only available for SURFING and COFFEE now :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a rookie, but have heard good things from friends. I hope to be able to use CS on an upcoming trip to Brazil.
Interests
Too many to list! As mentioned above, love travel, being outside (hiking, running, jogging, sports), spending time with friends, following politics, reading. You name it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Right now reading a book by Bill Bryson (this is for fun, but also have a lot of reading for school).
Listen to many things. Classical when I study, Pop, Hip Hop when I run (recently a lot of Jay-Z) and into indie music. The only thing that I could never get into was heavy metal or rock... even though I can appreciate the mad guitar skills in some of the songs I've heard.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flew around Mt Everest on a charter plane while on holiday with a friend from Trinidad (who was also living in Japan). Went to the Taj Mahal in a sari. Recently spent Halloween in Salem, MA, which was a wicked event. I have a few stories (as do we all)... just ask :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm, well, I can teach you a little Japanese! Genki? ;)
