About Me

Hey hey! I have a lot of experience traveling but am new to Couchsurfing. I am from Houston, Texas, USA but have lived in Berlin, Germany for the past 3+ years and really love it. I am very passionate about product design and solving complex problems, as well as fragrance, cooking, and all things eating/drinking. One of my favorite parts of traveling is getting to know the local cuisine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people from different backgrounds and learning about their lives and cultures. I see Couchsurfing as a way to do that more! My hope is to make a new friend while benefitting from their knowledge of their city. The free accommodation also doesn't hurt, but the social aspect is more important to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

• Music: I listen to a pretty wide range of genres. Everything from sad, soft indie acoustic to the techno to bluegrass to electro hyperpop to jazz and so on.
• Movies: I love love love going to the movies but don't do it enough. It's hard to pick a single favorite but the one that always gets me going is Annihilation.
• Books: I pretty much exclusively read non-fiction. I recently read a great book called Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo, which was about the several years the author spent living in Mumbai's poorest slum. Absolutely fascinating.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to Germany with limited knowledge of the language, never having started my own business. In the three years I have been here, I have become fluent in German and started a successful freelance practice.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A laugh, a drink, a meal, a conversation... Anything really—I'm an open book. I speak English and German fluently and would be happy to help you if you are learning either language. I also work as a product designer/strategist and graphic designer and would be happy to help you with any product strategy, creative problem-solving, or startup-related questions.
