About Me

I'm a SF based designer and craftsman. I spend my time working in architecture, UX design, and traditional wooden boatbuilding. My girlfriend and I live in the Mission SF, and get out on the road as much as possible to camp, rock climb, and explore the amazing places and landscape of the west coast.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be spending the summer in Houston to participate in the startup accelerator program at Rice University. It's a long drive from SF to TX and I'm hoping to couch surf and meet some amazing folks along the way.

Interests

Design, architecture, urbanism, woodworking, photography, hiking, rock climbing and the great outdoors. There's nothing better in life than just exploring, taking photos, and meeting new and amazing folks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorites are always hard, but I'm currently working my way through Veep, the Werner Herzog box set, rereading Ursula K. LeGuin's Earthsea series, 'The Spy Who Came In From The Cold', and of course keeping up with Game of Thrones, Broad City, and RuPaul's Drag Race. Next on my List is 'King, Queen, Knave.' I'm also a sucker for vampire movies; between 'Byzantium', 'Only Lovers Left Alive' and 'What We Do In The Shadows', it's been a good few year for vampire flicks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once free solo climbed a 150 foot tall concrete earthwork up a mountainside in Japan. That was kind of dumb but also pretty amazing.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, a few beers, war stories from my adventures traveling the world and dreams of travels to come. I suppose if you're building a wooden boat, I could also give you a few pointers, haha.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Northern Ireland, South Korea
