About Me

I am not ready to "settle down" yet, so I am wandering the world, searching for ways to earn money and have a good time along the way.

I consider myself to be adventurous and spontaneous, but at the same time, very deliberate in my actions. I will plan a trip somewhere, and make sure that I have everything I need for a good time, but once I arrive I love to get lost. I find, if I have the time, getting lost in a new place can be exhilarating, scary, and incredibly informative (I try not to get myself into dangerous situations though). I love to immerse myself in new places by making new friends, sharing stories, and going off the beaten path. Though, sometimes there is something to be said for doing the tourist thing. And most importantly, food. Food is a big motivator for me. I know this is pretty cliché, but I really try to only spend my money on food and transportation when I'm traveling.

I really try to live life for the experiences. I am lucky enough to be able to travel and see the world in a way that many others cannot, so I try not to take my experiences for granted. With this in mind, I do make sure to take advantage of my freedoms and abilities to see the world, and experience as much as I can in the time that will allow it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have not done much couch surfing through yet, but I have been couch surfing with friends, and friends of friends for years. I find it's the most interesting (and affordable) way to travel. My friends and family have been so incredibly grateful over the years, inviting me into their homes for a few days at a time. I am so eternally grateful to them for their kindness and friendship because it has allowed me to go to places, see thing, and do stuff I never could have imagined. I am excited for the day when I have a more permanent place to host guests and pay back all of the free couches that have been provided for me.

Typical adventury kinda stuff ie backpacking, camping, hiking, boating. I also enjoy a good cold beer after a long day outside (or a long day inside). I love photography, especially nature photography. I'm trying to teach myself the ins and outs of Lightroom right now. If you have tips or advice I'd love to learn more or teach what I know! I have also been teaching myself guitar for about a year. My ultimate goal is to learn the banjo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The sunrise in southern Madagascar.
Watching the salmon run in southeast Alaska.
Taking a train from the Charles Du Gaulle airport, getting lost in downtown Paris with nothing but the 5 euros in my pocket, during my 2 hour layover, and finding myself again just in time to catch my flight back to America.

Countries I’ve Visited

Israel, Madagascar, South Africa
