About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world, be happy, and use everyday an opportunity to learn something totally new.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel the world and learn all that I can about the history that has shaped what we see today. I am an extremely dedicated student, but have a huge passion for going on as many adventures as I can and as often as I can! Only rule I follow; make every day count!

PHILOSOPHY

"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others." -Nelson Mandela

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few friends and been to a few events, but social life is difficult during the school year. However, I always spread the word of CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was a few months ago where I hosted two sisters from Amsterdam. It was an incredible experience and I truly enjoyed learning about their lives and showing them my home. It was wonderful!

Interests

International Affairs, readings, sports, making the most of each day, and having adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Cannot do scary movies. All time favorites would have to be Breakfast Club, Iron Man (the first one only), Blue Crush, and Easy A.

Music: My music taste is all over the place but I need something real. I love Knaan, Macklemore, Jay Z, Kanye West, Akala, The Black Keys, Matisyahu, Bison...haha this could be never ending.

Books: All time favorite is Nelson Mandela's autobiography "A Long Walk to Freedom," "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell, "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa" by Walter Rodney, "Ourika" by Claire de Duras, and any and all Shakespeare plays but again this could be a never ending list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to live/work/study and travel throughout South Africa for one year during my undergraduate studies. It was this experience that forever changed me and I could not be more grateful for this incredible opportunity.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn from people who have seen a part of this world that I have yet to experience. I see everything as a learning opportunity. I simply hope to understand others perspectives of the world from the space they were placed in.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Italy, Mozambique, Namibia, United Kingdom, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Africa
