About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to experience life fully and objectively, to learn a lot and have fun doing it.

ABOUT ME

I am an outgoing girl who likes to travel, make new friends, and have new experiences. I love to laugh (who the hell doesn't?) and am easy to be around.

PHILOSOPHY

"Something that you feel will find its own form"
This is a Kerouac quote. I have it tattooed on my body and I live in pursuit of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will gladly help with chores or cooking, or anything else I am able to do to contribute the household.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a couchsurfing virgin! Hopefully not for long!

Interests

I love music with all of my heart, enjoy discussing world issues and global climates, and any form of art, from visual to performance. I have a psychology degree which I am not currently using, and bartend to fund my travels and adventures. I love literature (some of my favourite authors are Kerouac, Hesse, and Orwell), and hope to write some day.
I have a music and fashion blog, and if you'd like the know more about me and my interests you can check it out at TheVelvetArsenal.com.

Music, Movies, and Books

books- as I listed above, my favourite authors are Kerouac, Hesse, Orwell, Miller, Camus; I am currently reading The Trail by Kafka

music - where to begin? I am currently feeling very dreamy psychadelic rock; Widowspeak, Wild Belle, Torres, Deerhunter, Suuns, Allah Las, DIIV, Foxygen, The Knife, Kurt Vile, Liars, Toro Y Moi, Bahamas, Alt-J,
old loves that I'll never shake - Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Arctic Monkeys, Bob Dylan, The Doors, The Smiths, Blondie, Jimi Hendrix, Pearl Jam, Queen, Elvis Costello, The fucking Beatles, Nirvana, The Kinks, Rancid, Neil Young, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash, Smashing Pumpkins, The Shins, Broken Social Scene, Nirvana, The White Stripes/Jack White.....I also love classical (BEETHOVEN) and some jazz

Movies - I have the worst memory for movie titles, but I love films and documentaries

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was able to participate in a trip to Monterrey, Mexico to a very poor area to help with construction on a building and to distribute food to a community that had built their homes on and around the local garbage dump. I watched children pick through the garbage and the entire community share one tap, which ran through the center of the "street". Despite their seemingly dire situations, the people still smiled and seemed happy, showing true spirit and a love for each other that you don't often see in rich areas of the world. This experience forever changed my perspective on what is important in life, and certainly gave me my zest for exploration and desire for cultural experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I suppose I can share some of the knowledge that I gained during my psychology degree, in regards to theory and knowledge, especially neuropsychology. I may also be able to contribute basic piano lessons.
I would like to learn languages, especially French and Spanish, and better my computer skills.
