Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, I grew up in a Chinese house-hold, acclimatizing to the Fookien language by ear but responding in English because I could never get the accents right. I moved to Vancouver Canada 3 years ago and I'm currently travelling to expand my views of the world and find inspiration for my art.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested to know the culture and life in a different country through the people who live there as opposed to commercial tours. It would be nice to have friends all around the world.

Interests

I’ve always found it fairly easy to express myself through art. I do Character Portraits, using the unique features of a person's face and drawing out their personality. Each person is celebrated through a bit of humor and their story to be shared through my interpretation. Music, Movies, and Books

If I’m not working or drawing, I enjoy close-up street magic. The awe, the mystery the entertainment, the experience that one goes through witnessing magic before your eyes is a rush you get on a different level.  Music. Can’t live without it. I enjoy classical music, pop, jazz, meditation music and misty forest sounds just for atmosphere. I play a bit of guitar and I am very good at it when I'm alone in the bathroom. I find cooking fun and therapeutic. It’s just a matter of finding what's in the fridge and improvising. Sometimes it works out well and sometimes it doesn’t. The fun is in the experimentation and having others eat it first. I enjoy exploring nature with my trusty digital camera, snapping away at what natural beauty, or irony the world presents to me at that moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is doing the el Camino by myself. It is my first time to travel alone, first time in Europe and through this journey, it has clarified the reason why I was on this trip and has now redirected my adventure to Barcelona, Italy and Paris.

I taught English at one point, and play the guitar. We can learn more about each other's languages and songs.
