About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding something new to inspire me!

ABOUT ME

I love to travel and meet new, interesting people! In the past, I've always stayed at backpacker hotels because it is so easy to meet other travellers from all over the world. Recently a friend introduced me to couchsurfing, though, and I'm really looking forward to checking it out.

At home, I try to stay active in the lovely outdoors of Colorado. In the summer I play volleyball and wakeboard. In the winter I snowboard. I also enjoy going down to Denver a lot just to hang out at dive bars or go to concerts with my friends. I can also be quite happy, though, having a lazy evening in front of a good movie.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep an open mind and soak it all in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered at the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia through Earthwatch in 2005. It was definitely one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Of course interacting with the cheetahs was unbelievable... I was in the pens with them for feeding and cleaning. But just experiencing Africa outside the tourist areas was incredible. Wildlife was EVERYWHERE, including giraffes, zebras, and wild cheetahs on the CCF grounds. We went to Etosha National Park for a weekend trip and just drove ourselves around. We sat in the car 50 ft from a pride of 13 wild lions. There were elephants, rhinos and thousands of different types of antelope.

I highly recommend Earthwatch to everyone and volunteering in Africa, steering away from expensive game parks and tours.
