About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn Spanish and Italian. To become a better cook. To contribute to the world through active participation
ABOUT ME
What can I say? I like people and value the culture of welcoming guests into the home. I like intellectual things, but mostly I like learning from people first-hand. I appreciate many forms of culture.
PHILOSOPHY
I think it is important to take care of friends as if they were family. This does not mean enabling their bad habits, but loving them and nurturing them in simple ways. Its good to have a community that is reliable, or else one becomes lonely, isolated; the latter is the general trend of Western culture. Its important to defy that in action.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, as I am without my own dwelling (I am staying with a friend), I cannot offer my couch. But as soon as I have my own place in Chicago this April, I will offer it. I am going to spread the word about this if my couch-surfing experiences are good, which I expect them to be.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have been without a place to live for brief periods of time in high school college and have stayed at many friends houses. In Eastern Europe, I was the guest at some people's homes and was well looked out-for. I'd like to give back to others (I have always welcomed my friends and friends of friends to stay with me when I have had a space). It would be interesting to meet strangers, and right now I'd prefer to stick with females.
