ABOUT ME

I just finished working as a foster parent at a children's home in Houston for the past year and a half, and before that I lived in Mongolia for two years as a Peace Corps volunteers. Now I am living in Chicago with my brother for a whole new adventure! I like hearing people's stories, discussing books and movies, and finding good music to listen to.

PHILOSOPHY

Life never turns out the way we expect. Everyone has a story. We could all use a little less judgment and a little more kindness.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started out surfing, and when I moved to Mongolia, I became a host. It's good to see both sides to know what makes both a good host and surfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Ireland, the Czech Republic, Russia, France, and China, and I've hosted in Mongolia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After hitchhiking to the tip of a peninsula in Ireland, my sister, a friend, and I climbed to the top of the cliff to look out over the ocean. When we looked down, we saw seals sunbathing on the rocks below. It was a simple moment, but to a kid who grew up never seeing the ocean and only seeing 'exotic' animals in zoos, the combination of seeing nature so raw and oblivious was breathtaking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do yoga every morning and love to share what I know of it with others. Also, I'm interested in learning more about meditation to expand myself in that way. I am always willing to offer something I know or have, especially if I can learn a thing or two from someone else.
