I've met couchsurfing's people in Liverpool, the city where I'm living currently. They'were from Israël, Croatia and France

Favorite movies : American History X, Gran Torino, The Big Lebowski etc.
TV shows : How I met your mother, The OC, Dexter, Desperate Housewives, Prison Break etc.
My favorites books : The wolf of Wall Street (Jordan Belfort 2009) and Millenium series (Stieg Larson 2005-2007). I like read books about history, finance, thriller etc.
But I don't like fantastic books/movies. May be I'm too much pragmatic...
