My mission is to meet people. It's the connections that you make on your traveling that make the experience.. I'd like to see some sights and I'd like to share what I see.

ABOUT ME

Oh man! How can I sum myself up in this little text box? I'm trying to get myself out of a box! But I will try. I must warn you that I might write something ridiculous about myself in this box for want of anything interesting to say about myself at this juncture. Shall I tell you my story and why I'm here? Shall I tell you my likes and dislikes...or my favorite color? Or my favorite kind of pizza? I like pizza with anchovies on it. I really do. That's not important though (well it is to me but not to you...) Let's see: I'm a happy girl with a pleasant disposition. I love to cook, run, write, read and practice yoga. And I love to dance. I also like to drink tea, but that's neither here nor there. My favorite dish to cook for myself is oatmeal. I like to practice to art of making something out of nothing, making ordinary things extraordinary. And my oatmeal is extraordinary. If you let me crash on your couch you're in for a treat :) What else? I like to tell stories. I'm a laid back and content person and I love to laugh. I also love music. I'm very happy when I'm sitting back and listening to live music. I think that's it for now...

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is this: Everyone has a story. We all know what pain, stress and tragedy feels like because these emotions - inevitably - are part of our story. Show respect for the story of the person you're with in this moment - whether you know his story or not.. he's got one. Give him some compassion because he's been through a lot. Just like you have. We're all in this together!

Also: In my mind, life is either an adventure or a slow death. I choose adventure!

I'm a yoga instructor! I recently got my teaching certificate in Nosara, Costa Rica and I'm looking for opportunities to teach. I can offer some sweet sweet yoga sessions to anyone interested :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've yet to couchsurf, but I'm looking forward to the experience!

Interests

I like to read. I like writing. I like walking around some place I've never been before (I'm big on walking). I love yoga. And food. I love food...and Music. I think music is something magical.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Right now I'm reading Gandhi's Autobiography, which I'm enjoying very much. Before that I read Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow. The juxtaposition of Gandhi and Pynchon is a bit shocking to me but I dig it.

Music: Dang. Too broad...a couple of my favorites: Modest Mouse, Radiohead, Elliott Smith, Frank Sinatra...seriously there's so many I love it all. I have much respect for music and the music makers.

Movies: Off hand I think the Coen brothers put out some good films: The Big Lebowski is a classic, for one. I also like Wes Anderson movies, Life Aquatic being my favorite. Fight Club is another one that stands out in my mind. Basically I enjoy anything that's going to make me laugh or make me think. Hooray!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Um, quit my event-planning job, got rid of my apartment, my furniture and my clothes - reduced myself to a backpack and a yoga mat - and took a trot down to Costa Rica to get my yoga teaching certificate. Talk about meeting some amazing people - I could tell you stories!!
