ABOUT ME

Well they'd probably say that we come as a pair, Justin and I. We're like two halves of a whole. He is extroverted and very talkative where I am more quiet and tend to observe situations from a safe distance. Don't take it as boring. We are both very adventurous, though I much prefer to watch the cliff-diving, where Justin would be first in line. We love meeting new friends and learning about others' lives both in real life and through books and movies, and we look forward to meeting you!

Interests

Traveling and seeing the world are our foremost mutual interests.

I, Caitlin, particularly enjoy cooking and baking and hope to do so professionally someday. I also love watching movies, the weirder or more twisted, the better, and I love reading books (same preference with the weird and twisty). I also enjoy a variety of sports from soccer to sailing and I love being in nature.

Justin loves to exert himself and push his boundaries. Whether it's overcoming his fear of heights by taking up and then teaching rock climbing, or taking theater classes to conquer his fear of public speaking, he turns his personal obstacles into breathtaking adventures. His adventures also extend into the world of fantasy as he is a fan of all sorts of table top gaming. He also likes being handsome, and
being playfully competitive in all aspects of life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Caitlin:

1: Standing on a hill crest at the foot of the Alps in Bolzano, feeling as though I were standing in a scene from the Sound of Music while marveling at the grandeur of the panorama. It was amazing to be standing in such a luscious green field and staring at the jagged snow covered rock faces towering so far above. I spend a lot of time convincing myself they were real and not an expertly painted back drop.

2: Stepping out of the airport in Rome for the first time. I fell in love with the country instantly. The air was so different than any I had smelled before, fresher and older at the same time, and the bustle of the people sounded so relaxed. Like there was an ever-present calming force affecting everyone, still moving quickly but minus the urgency. Not to mention the proportions and shapes of things I was familiar with (I.e. cars and Coca-Cola) instantly distorted to a new normative. I constantly crave this feeling of stepping directly into a place so foreign from the one I started in. It is why I travel.

Justin:

Hiking the 56 miles of mountain trails from my hometown to the coastline was by and far the most amazing decision I have ever made. Along the way I became intimately familiar with that subtle magic that we often forget permeates our world. I sat on a cliff side, eating trail rations with two friends, and I stared out into oblivion, the shadow of night having claimed the horizon and it seemed as if, after a few hundred feet the world became this endless void. After nearly a week on the trail we reached our destination, having totally forgotten how a grocery store worked and having seen such amazing things that it would take me the better part of 6 hours to orate them properly.
