About Me
I tend to get wordy but I'll try my best to keep it short and organized.
Who I Am; Lost in the Lunch Line:
I think the best way to tell you about me is with an example. Every day for my first 2 weeks of kindergarten, my teachers had to call my mom and have her come to the school to calm me down; I would end up a hysterical mess by lunchtime. The reason? I couldn't understand the lunch line! I didn't know where to go or what to do which led to complete panic, followed by an outpouring of tears. Think about that. How could I have ever made it to the age of 27 when I couldn't get my food in the cafeteria because it was too complicated?! On the flip-side, I was reading Steven King novels in 2nd grade, read the entire Works of Plato in the summer when I was 17, and teach myself math for fun. Maybe I'm good at LEARNING things, but I'm bad at DOING things?
My Immediate Goal:
To escape the cornfields of Southern Minnesota and meet beautiful people, in new places; to really experience life in a more direct way than through books and theories; to not cry in the lunch line and instead buck up and do something scary but awesome!
I have an amazingly supportive, loving, and intelligent husband who is living in Vancouver, Washington. Together, we have decided that it's best for me to quit my job of 8 years and get out of here as fast as I can! We hope that going out on my own to travel to several US cities will help me get over "the lunch line phenomenon" and I can come out being a more functional adult.
Likes: Spiders, snakes, anything lavender(scent and color), learning anything and everything, deep conversations, being passionate about my things and seeing others being passionate about theirs, honesty, vodka, anything related to France....
Dislikes:
Meaningless small-talk, rude people, noise while I'm reading, rigid thinkers, cake(I know!)....
I'm a pretty open person, once I feel comfortable around someone, so if there's anything else you'd like to know don't ever be afraid to ask.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- The Weeknd! I've been a fan since the beginning; like House of Balloons days. I listen to him almost exclusively, which may or may not be healthy, haha. (I have tried to expand my horizons but few artists stick with me.) I grew up being a huge Michael Jackson fan so it's easy to see why I fell in love with Abel's voice. Basically, it's 90% The Weeknd and 10% MJ, Stromae, Banks, and others.
Books- Ooh, that's a BIG topic. I prefer non-fiction, especially philosophy, but I try to read a little of everything. Some of my favorite books(it's so hard to make a short list!) include Michel de Montaigne's Essays, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Being and Nothingness by Jean-Paul Sartre... man, the list could really go on forever. I'm currently working on Freud's Interpretation of Dreams and wow, it's pretty trippy!
Movies- Honestly, I don't care much for movies but my favorite movie is Interstellar. That one blew me away! I've also been really into all the comic book movies.
What I Can Share with Hosts
In all honesty, I don't know that I have much to offer except respect and good conversation. Also, I'm good at cleaning/organizing so hey, I'll clean your place if you want. :)
