About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Share New Orleans with visitors, share stories and creative collaboration!

ABOUT ME

I've just finished undergrad at Loyola. Now I'm enjoying taking time to invest in creative projects and community gatherings here in New Orleans! I'm planning adventures to travel in the future, mostly South and Central America; but as of now, I am happy to share my quirky home here and show folks the best parts of this colorful city that I love so, so much.

PHILOSOPHY
I believe giving is receiving, and mutual exchange is beneficial for everyone! Rather than trying to profit personally from a situation, I believe selfless generosity will be rewarded one way or another! We are all responsible for creating our own lives and cultivating our own happiness, and how you chose to do that will go out into the world will be reciprocated

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am an enthusiastic host, and hope to travel through couchsurfing in the future

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My roommate and I hosted a handful of folks about two years ago at our old house here in New Orleans. We had been un-official hosting travelers and friends of friends for quite a while, but the website helped us meet folks from all over the world. It has been such a great experience and has created lasting friendships and connections abroad.

Interests

I'm interested in many things, and often have a lot of projects going at once. I like to write, and have some poetry and nonfiction, I have been getting into film photography over the past couple of years, I like to draw and make sculptures. I've dabbled in carpentry, welding, and am reteaching myself weaving- experimenting with new mediums. I like to play and listen to music, live, or on the radio and dance! I also like to cook and learn new recipes, and share food with friends. Most of all, I like to bring people together to share all of these things and enjoy them together.
I also like swimming and kayaking/canoeing, camping when there's an opportunity, exploring in nature. I also am interested in learning more about the aerial silks.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music, and love to learn about different genres from around the world. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Brazilian music, tropicalia, and cumbia. I really like the sound of klezmer and other eastern sounds as well. Anything, really!
I have a menagerie of books, that I jump around and read snips of, but I generally gravitate toward autobiographies of artists etc. Magic realism is another genre I am attracted to.
I generally watch documentaries, on cultural anthropology or nature.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning is a live-long activity and I am always striving to learn new things, ask questions and have discussions are share with others. I think it is one of the most important aspects of life and richest part of human interactions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share my interesting living space, a bed, couch, shower (outdoors) or bath; coffee, tea, recipes, music, ideas, writings, and stories. Of course, the beautiful city of New Orleans as well. There is so much to see here: colorful, flourishing neighborhoods, incredible food, friendly creative people, music that makes you dance, hidden gems and sincere charm. There is also bayou to be explored for those seeking to canoe/kayak, I can try and arrange for that as well!
Just want to share a good experience in this beautiful place.
