Présentation
À propos de moi
I am a theatre producer who is setting up a niche online business to help theatre makers. I've spent most of my adult life in London but grew up with forest on all four sides - I love extremes, from thriving metropolises to deserted countryside.
I thirst for new experiences, which is probably why I like theatre so much - it takes you away into another world.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I've never had the opportunity to travel, and now I'm setting up an online business I realise I can work from anywhere! The world has suddenly opened up for me and I am looking forward to exploring it. I find people fascinating so couch surfing particularly appeals because then I get to see your city through your eyes which I find far more interesting than just schleping about on my own.
Centres d'intérêt
I'm a zealot for curated live experiences which includes galleries and museums as well as walks, talks and street performances.
I love festivals - but usually only the small scale ones (sub 20,000 people) and I adore the teeny tiny ones (500) . I help organise Burning Nest, the UK Burning Man which experiments with living with different rules from the rest of the world such as Inclusivity and No Commerce.
I love exploring ways to live differently and I have a vivacity for seeing everything. I love hiking the hills as much as walking the back streets of an unknown city, seeing the lived culture rather than just hitting the tourist spots.
Also love non-mainstream boardgames.
I loved getting involved in other people's hobbies and have a bad habit of agreeing to do things before realising what they are!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
It's all about the sci-fi. I love classic sci-fi where big ideas play out and I'm also getting quite interested in the more gritty fantasty. I have a dark sense of humour and enjoy books where the bad guy wins.
I enjoy non-fiction and wish I had the time to read academic journals and study MOOCs, but I don't so I usually end up with pop-science despite the sometimes tenuous conclusions and bad citations. I like select poets and want to start reading more philosophy.
Music - I like it as a background to my life rather than a main passion. I really like Dizraeli and the Small Gods right now, although my taste in music is very diverse. I also enjoy a good rave.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Broke a £4.4 million missile launcher.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I'm currently learning how to make home brew. The beer is good, the mead isn't going so well, but I'm working on it!
I also make beaded jewellery and cross-stitch.
I'd love to learn Esperanto, I want to improve my terrible French and I'm starting Japanese - yeah, I'm not very good at focusing on some things...
I used to kayak a lot and would love to have a paddle about if there's some good water near you. I also used to be quite involved in grappling and I spent a few years learning how to fight with a broadsword. Important life skill that.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I know loads of hidden gems in London that won't be in the guidebook. From unusual architecture streets and beaches, (yes, London has beaches) to pubs, cafes, museums and night-life that you would never see unless you're a local.
I'm an event manager so if you need to learn how to do marketing, budgeting or anything else to do with event organising I can certainly help out.
