About Me

Discovering new places in ourselves through travelling round the world

Hello! We are Luis and Sarah. Luis is from Spain and 32 years old and Sarah is 31 years from England. We have decided to take a year out from life working back in Europe to have a travelling adventure, to learn a bit more about the world and ourselves.

We love travelling and discovering new worlds, people and places. We have already had lots of weird and wonderful experiences on our adventures so far, through India and various countries in South East Asia.

We are new to couchsurfing but think it could be a great way to meet people and get a bit more under the skin of the places we visit. We´re easy going, open minded and independent and are really keen to meet new people, share ideas and some laughs.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Embrace the present moment, whatever it may be.
As the poet Antonio Machado said (in Spanish), "Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road, the road is made by walking".
Also, striving to go through life with an open mind and heart.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far we have being guests once -a very good experience-, but will become hosts as soon as we return home.

We had our first and only couchsurfing experience just recently. It was great: a fantastic way to get a better insight into the culture of the host.

It is a difficult question, as, really, everything interests us. We enjoy both having a good conversation and quietly observing the world pass by; cooking and eating; doing sports and nothing; reading, listening and playing music, yoga, learning and practising massage and, of course, travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Many movies from directors such as Tim Burton, Stanley Kubrik, Billy Wilder, the Coen brothers, Pierre Jeunet and Jonh Huston, and films such as Casablanca, Godfellas, The Godfather, Blade Runner, Terminator, Avatar, Into the Wild, American Beauty, The Big Lebowski, Revolutionary Road and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and many others that are not springing to mind at this very moment, have fed our souls.

About music, lets say we love GOOD music from different styles and all around the world. The list can be too long, but if we had to pick only one author, it would be Bob Marley, as we have never got tired of listen to him, as it is appropriate for many occassions and can change your mood at the click of a reggae beat!

Books that were really difficult to stop reading: "One hundred years of solitude", by Gabriel Garcia Marquez; "Donde mejor canta un pajaro", by A. Jodorowsky; "The lord of the rings", by J.R.R. Tolkien

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Possibly the most memorable thing on our trip so far has been our encounters with people on the way. We have been inspired by quite a mixed bunch of folk. Some of these people have inspired us with their creativity and sheer balls to follow their dream, be themselves and do their thing; and others because of their positive outlook on life and fantastic sense of humour.
We have also visited many beautiful places and been in many new and sometimes challenging situations. One example is when we spent a couple of days on a rickety bus travelling through the Himalayas - truely breathtaking. Also, trekking through the mountainous jungles of northern Laos and staying at people´s homes in remote villages. More recently we did a scuba diving course in Sabah (Borneo) which brought us into another astounding landscape - like flying in another, colourful and strangely textured world.

Teach, Learn, Share

We would like to learn anything that you believe is worth to learn.

We can share our little knowledge on Yoga and Thai Massage. Also, we can cook a variety of cuisines. Our specialities are Spanish, Indian and British -which, despite its bad reputation, is better than you think!
