About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world, eat all the food and drink all the wine and beer I can, experience it all through farming.

ABOUT ME

I am 22 years old, graduated in 2012 with a Degree in Sustainable Agriculture, and have been traveling the world since I was sixteen, WWOOFing and working on organic farms to gain as many new experiences as I can so that one day I may feel competent and capable of running my own farm.

I have a passion for good agriculture, beautiful places, great food, and most importantly microbrew beer. I'll search the world for these four things for as long as I can afford to.

PHILOSOPHY

Well I would like to start a farm in the next 5-10 years and once I start it, I will no longer have the time or luxury of being able to travel. So I think my personal philosophy until then is to see all that I can see, experience all that I can experience, and learn everything I can from each new farm I work on until the day comes when I start my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am living on a dairy farm in Martha's Vineyard, working as a farm hand and intern. Its possible that I might be able to host but would have to talk to my three housemates first.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet, though I've met people who have couch surfed at a few of my friends' houses.

I've spent the last 5 years WWOOFing and in a way thats like couch surfing but much more demanding.

Interests

An appreciation for food from the planting, the cultivating, the growing, the harvest, the preparation and the consumption.

A fulfilling life spent doing good, hard work outside on the farm.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently attempting to read a bunch of books on Managment Intensive Grazing and Pasture Based Livestock production.

Currently listening to a lot of The Milk Carton Kids, John Bryan Appleby, Aunt Martha, Lord Huron, The Lumineers,Elephant Revival, Brown Bird, Horse Feathers, The Deep Dark Woods, Deep Chatham and lots more

Synecdoche New York is and INCREDIBLE film. I am also completely enamored with Beasts of the Southern Wild.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel truly lucky to be so young and to have already made a long, long list of incredible places I've traveled to, experiences I've had and opportunities I've been given.

I've traveled all across Italy, New Zealand, England and parts of Wales, working on small farms through the WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) program and have experienced each country through their food, their farming and their landscapes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty decent cook and would be happy to teach or to cook for whomever is hosting me

I am pretty knowledgeable and extremely passionate about artisan beer and always love to share a bottle or two with a new friend.

If for some reason, someone wants to learn about farming, I've got loads of experience and crazy stories to share from all over the world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Italy, New Zealand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
