About Me

ABOUT ME

I am very into people. Why, what, how, when where? I love hearing stories and learning how people came to be the persons that they are. I love how I always find through the vast differences we all have that we all are so essentially similar. We are simply people and it is a beautiful and wonderful thing to be able to relate to and learn from each other. I love to laugh, eat, dance, dream! I try to find what is beautiful in all places but my specialty is finding beauty in places and things and people that most people would write off. Sometimes I'm quiet and can go for days just thinking to myself. Other times I don't want to shut up. I'm ok with silence and sometimes crave it but I crave hustle and bustle and noise just as much. I think too much about everything and the only thing that I know that makes me very happy is knowing I have positively impacted another human being. I'm still trying to blend that desire with my talents and figure out how I can make a lifelong living doing these things that make me so happy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am actually joining this site as a part of an adventure that I think will be the most amazing one of my life so far. I will be going to San Francisco, CA to participate in an event called the Out of the Darkness Overnight. It is an 18 mile walk that will take place in San Francisco beginning at sundown on Saturday, June 9th and last through the night until sunrise on Sunday, June10th. It is to raise awareness for suicide prevention, mental health disorders, and depression. I am doing this in honor of my best friend who took his own life last April. I am also walking in memory of my brothers teammate who lost his life to suicide in March of this year. I have never been off the east coast and I have never traveled alone. I have raised about $1,300 so far to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. I am excited to take this step in healing, preserving memories, meeting other survivors, and introducing myself to the west coast! :)
