I must to live in Baunei and Santa Maria Navarrese, is a small village in Ogliastra Sardinia, actually in London working in the luxury turism industry.

A legend says: That in 1052 the princess of (Navarra) Spain and her crew sailed the rocky waters of
now known Santa Maria Navarrese, and to give thanks for there servival ,built a church dedicating it to
the Sant (Santa Maria) , This is how they say the village got its name ......
This Ancient church ascends to the XI century. It was restored in 1950 to keep its origanality.

The beuty that surrounds this ancient church, are advirse from the seculary and millearian olive trees. To the eye catch
Saraceno Tower, built in the XVII century, craddled by our beutiful beaches.
One of the most traditional feast Santa Maria Navarrese celebrates is in onore of the Beata Vergine Assunta
Held the 15th of August , It begins with a procession around the island of l'isolotto to pay there respects to the Madanna.
And of course no Sardinian feast is a feast with out the tasting of there roasted goat, from the upper mountains of Baunei
The feast goes threw in to ferragosto were you are able to enjoy and participate in the tasting of our mostitraditional foods
like: home made raviolis, sweets and tipical sardinian bread (Pistoccu) and much more..........
all surrounded in an evocative atmosphere of Sardinian music and dancing...
If you ask your self , places to see??? well you have come to the right place , all the areas surrounding Santa Maria Navarrese and
Baunei are worth seeing. From the small pools of still water formed naturally called (Piscinas) ,located on the Golgo Plateau,
to the remains of Nuraghic settlements, (Albu ) located in numerous aereas.Also located in the Golgo plateau is another ancient church (San Pietro) The legend says: In the impressive 270 metre gorge ( Su Sterru) "once a live volvcano", lived a dragon.
Which once a month demainded from the habitants of Baunei to sacrifice a young women to him .Scared and tierd of the dragon , they rebeled and invoked the Sant (San Pietro) to help them free of the dragon. Becouse of there strong beliefs and faith
San Pietro gratified there reguest and had the dragon killed.
On his behalf the citizens of Baunei restored the church and every year celibrate with an unusual religios procession, including
dances, singing and of course feasting on traditional Sardinian food ........
Thanks to the, blend of crystal waters and rocky cliffs, makes Santa Maria Navarrese and Baunei the place to spend your vacation, Next to the beach or in the mountain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Eh EH EH!!!! The snow is very rare in Sardinia, the first time me and my friend we've seen snow we tucked into an empty carcass washing machine and we launched off the tip of a flight of stairs (20m) like the bob, jakass very stylish ... I'll let you imagine the rest! ;)
