Join Couchsurfing to see Carly’s full profile. It’s free!
Hello! My name is Carly. I am 26 years old and trying to travel. I just moved to Charlotte, North Carolina with my cats Jon Snow and Sweet Pea. Sweet Pea is 17 years old and Jon Snow just turned 1. I lived in Ohio before moving to Charlotte, and am a fourth generation Clevelander. This means that my ancestors immigrated to Cleveland and never left.
For fun, I like to try to stay active, but I tore my rotator cuff, so that limits what I can do right now. I also like to go to concerts, listen to music, learn new things, watch movies, hang out with friends, go hiking and do outdoor activities, and read good books.
I am open to everything, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on CouchSurfing because I want to see new cities from a local's point of view. What better way than to couchsurf?
Music, good books, discovering new things, keeping my mind and body active, movies, good times with friends.
Music, Movies, and Books
There are too many to name, but I am reading You Deserve Nothing right now. I just finished What's Your Number. It was pretty good.
Movies I just saw and recommendations: Whiplash (definitely see this. It is excellent!)
Maleficent (Excellent movie. Definitely surprised me.)
The Best of Me (Love story is very short. Don't watch unless you want to get depressed and cry. Lots of violence and down points.)
Foxcatcher (Bizarre movie. It was interesting though.)
The Theory of Everything (EXCELLENT movie, and the score was the best I've heard in a long time.)
Kill The Messenger (Sucked. Boring.)
Gone Girl (Really freaked me out. Reinforced my stance on not wanting to get married.)
Guardians of the Galaxy (What a great movie. I can't believe I hadn't watched it sooner.)
Music wise, I'm all over the board. I listen to anything and everything, as long as it's good, depending on the mood I'm in.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I picked up my life and moved away from my family for a fresh start. I also started my own nonprofit and now speak to children in two states. Those for me are my greatest accomplishments.
I am also a classically trained violinist, and was in the best orchestras in high school. I graduated early from high school as the only senior to graduate from orchestra with all Is in states over my career.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you ever want to learn about Cleveland, I'll teach you. Charlotte I am still learning.
If you want to learn anything I know how to do or know something about, I am always willing to lend a helping hand.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Intellect, good conversation, great personality, and fun.
I like to help people, so if I can find something I can help you with, I'm more than willing to do so.
