About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to find a mission

ABOUT ME

I just finished my Master's and am seizing the opportunity of a pause in chaos to explore without limits. I am looking to include some work in my travels hopefully outdoors.

PHILOSOPHY

John Steinbeck summarizes my personal philosophy best in The Log from the Sea or Cortez: I am inspired by life, "teeming boisterous life, and learn something from it, learn that the first rule of life is living."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CS, but I will be surfing, hosting when I finally have a place to host from, and engaging with the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have shared many a couch with friends and friends of friends.

Interests

I enjoy cooking with and for friends and family, kicking back at a cafe or bar, listening to live music, reading outside, exploring the outdoors, napping in the sunshine, learning new skills from farming to cheese making, swimming, floating down rivers, jumping through waves, adventuring to new places, and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Princess Bride, Blues Brother, and The Triplets of Belleville are a few movie favorites that come to me off the top of my head.

I enjoy all sorts of music and really appreciate a good live show.

In regards to books, I do not know where to begin. I love to read them, have many favorites, many I still want to read, and am always looking for a new recommendation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just drove through the western USA with a friend and saw the most amazing and unexpected thing, other than the beautiful and erie landscape; fossilized dinosaur footprints! This was an unexpected finding and the result of a last minute decision to follow random road signs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can make fresh ricotta cheese and have been baking my whole life.

Other, possibly less useful skills include two degrees in marine science, and some experience teaching high school students.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Canada, Costa Rica, Ghana, United Kingdom, United States
