ABOUT ME
We're brand new to couchsurfing, and looking forward to meeting new people at home and abroad.
We decided to write this profile as a couple because we plan on doing a lot of travelling together.
It is thanks to traveling, that we met. While in Spain, I met another traveller, and a few years later, decided to visit him in his current location. Through him, I met Seth, and two years later we got married.
I recently graduated from midwifery school, and am about to start working as a midwife (someone who receives babies) in July.
Seth: I'm a builder and gardener/farmer living in Colorado. I'm planning to immigrate to live with Carolyn in Canada in August. I studied political science but don't practice, I prefer to make things and to help plants grow instead. While I'm not the best player I really enjoy playing and building African drums (djembes and ashikos) I climb some and raft often (we have two rafts) I tried kayaking but never could get a combat roll down. Pretty much I enjoy doing any and all outdoor activities from the tranquil to the extreme. My favorite times are most often those when I get to have long conversations with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences, preferably over a great meal with good wine.
PHILOSOPHY
...embracing all parts of ourselves, the good and the bad.
...being present and mindful (or at least, trying to be).
...recognizing our personal agreements, and trying to be aware of how they affect our daily life.
...effortless effort, the way of Tao.

Music, Movies, and Books
Carolyn: I live in a pop culture vortex; however I love all sorts of books, love listening to and dancing to psychtrance, ambient, and world music.
Seth: I feel guilty when I read fiction so I generally confine myself to books on politics and economics. On a lighter note, I love most all movies, even the occasional blockbuster. I enjoy reggae, afrobeat, and other "world" music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Carolyn: Truly, what I find most amazing is that over the years I have built so many strong, authentic, long-lasting friendships with people from all the place. What I've seen, what I've done, wouldn't matter without those friendships.
Seth: One of my most amazing experiences was rafting down the Grand Canyon in 21 days. Great rafting, great friends, great food, great experiences.
