Generally speaking to nourish and disseminate unifying ideas over dividing ones.
Howdy! My name is Casey. I'm 26 years old. If I had to choose three words to describe myself they'd be: creative, understanding, and receptive. My heroes are: Bruce Lee, Friedrich Nietzsche, Special Agent Dale Cooper (from the TV series Twin Peaks), and Akira Kurosawa. I aim to live by this piece of advice attributed to Zhuangzi, a 4th century BCE Chinese philosopher: "Let your mind wander in simplicity, blend your spirit with the vastness, go along with things as they, make no room for personal views and all will be governed."
I kind of stated it above, but I believe strongly in allowing people to be themselves. As I see it, life can be tough so I try not to add to that toughness for others. I also believe in the importance of balance, even though it feels very difficult to maintain sometimes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I am looking for places to stay for the last week or so in September in the city of Seattle.
Brand new to this! I've been wandering on and off, between farms and bicycle rides, for the past year.
All things dealing with bicycles, kung fu cinema, Chinese philosophy - particularly Taoism, paradoxes, farming, general systems theory, films in general, anything having to do with Japan, drawing, photography, color theory, and climbing trees!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
With my partner we rode our bikes from Portland, OR to San Francisco in the Fall of 2010. That was incredible. After that we went from organic farm to organic farm learning about sustainable agriculture. Eventually our farm journey led us to Kona, Hawaii and an organic coffee farm. Weeding in Hawaii is something else, let me tell you!! EVERYTHING grows well where we were, even the weeds. In Hawaii we regularly swam with wild dolphins in a bay just down the hill from us. They were pretty amazing and had a very special presence about them. People get high on the dolphins in Kona. They come down every morning to swim with them.I can understand why!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am handy when it comes to bicycles. I am passionate about colors. (They are everywhere and if you can learn to savor them then you will never be bored!) I also just spent four months on an organic coffee, avocado, and mango farm in Hawaii. I learned all about soil science and how one can not only grow food but nourish the soil in the process!
I would love to learn about just about anything involving practical skills. I'm also interested in hearing about esoteric ideas concerning just about anything! From the heavens to the earth, I am curious about it all!
