Overview
About Me
Today I am a film music composer after many years as a singer/songwriter with jobs in the film industry. I grew up in a small town in Southern Germany, spent 6 years in Hamburg where I studied music, German and American literature before moving to New York where I lived for 24 years. I went back to Germany - to Berlin.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a former location scout who searched locations for 'Dead Man' in New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California and mostly Oregon -- I am passionate about places and am enjoying meeting the people who live there. With my music I have traveled on tour with bandmates through Mexico, went cross country as an accordionist and from Northern to Southern Europe. With my DJ/Food project I was in Bangalore. Everywhere we were either hosted by amazing people and music lovers or made deep connections with locals. I am outgoing and interested in deep conversations. Meeting people always broadens my horizon.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of Music in different styles: Matt Keating, Arvo Pärt, Pixies, Lou Reed, Dinosaur Jr, Sigur Ros - good songs - beautiful soundscapes...
Books: I am actually currently reading and intrigued by Anna Karenina from Tolstoy
Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind, Stranger Than Paradise, Tune in Tomorrow, Code Unkown, independent films, art house.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just wrote a symphony which got performed by a 60 piece orchestra and was performed live to films in Berlin.
I traveled one month alone through India ;-)
I hiked down to Supai in the Grand Canyon, experienced the back of the waterfall, camped experiencing a small earthquake and spoke at the local school about Germany. I actually was afterwards asked by teenagers to explain how babies were made. Back then in the reservation women were told when they were 18.
I moved myself from Germany to New York not knowing anyone...
