ABOUT ME

Olá! Hello!

This is a joint profile for myself and Olle.
We are both very creative and adventurous people who met at The University of Edinburgh where we both studied Architecture. Olle is Swedish and I am British.

We have explored a lot of the world - mixing travel with work in architecture and this is how we came to travel to Brasil and work in São Paulo.

Last year, we went to the jungle in Borneo from July-September working with a team of people on a construction project. The year before that we were in New York working in the city in architecture offices.

We have always had a great passion for Brazilian life and culture and are so excited to be here. While working we spoke English and now we are travelling we would love to practice our Português!

We are a couple but actually very independent people, fun to be around together and separately!

We appreciate finding out more about new people and cultures and no matter what your interests and hobbies are we would like to get involved and share our own interests with others. We enjoy going out, I love to dance (and am very interested in learning some Samba!), but equally we think chilled times are brilliant, just watching the world go by. If we could find just a few couchsurfing friends during our time here it would be just great, to make the adventure more varied and real.

We are still quite new to the CouchSurfing world but have hosted once and surfed once. Our few experiences have been great so would love to get to know more of you soon in Brazil!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have only tried couch surfing once, which was a bit informal as we were invited by a friend of the host. Anyway, we instantly realised the beauty of the concept over the days we spent with our host in Kota Kinabalu, Borneo, and want to get into it more. We got to meet lots of his local friends and participated in several couch surfing events during the period. We were sharing a room with a Malaysian dive instructor who we later took our Open water certificate with. It was a great way to get to now Kota Kinabalu in a less touristy way, learn a bit of the language and have the best guide to the city.
