Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New years eve 2002, in Colorado: My friends and I rolled in to Breckenridge with nothing but our van, our skis, ourselves, and a pony keg. We offered the keg to some kind people in exchange for a house to party in for the night. The party was excellent, the conversations were hillarious, we crashed some couches, and the next morning the keg was still in our van.

Interests

I am wildly passionate about fish, those beautiful, agile creatures...i love to care for them, admire them, learn about them, and learn from them. Mostly i just like to watch them. I'm crazy for the outdoors in the same way i am for fish. I'm also gaining interest in capoeira angola, and brazilian and south american culture in general. i love extreme sports (though not always in practice...not sure i could ski off a cliff), skiing, hiking, rockclimbing, biking and walking all over. I love to sail casually, indeed my favorite place on earth is on the open water with my feet hanging over the bow of a boat. I'm always interested in the new, and unknown. and travel...travel, travel, travel.

too many to list so I'll give you my current obsessions:

Books: Stardust by Neil Gaiman, anything by Barbara Kingsolver, Mountains beyond Mountains (inspirational read about the amazing Dr. Paul Farmer)
Music: arcade fire, ben folds, brighteyes, radiohead, ani, aimee man, anything and everything piano.....
Movies: Its all gone Pete Tong, A fish called Wanda

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw a tree struck by lightning, 30 ft from where i stood.

I was invited to and attended a maasai wedding ceremony

I traveled by bus, van, foot from Quito, Ecuador to Rio de Janeiro

There is something really strange about seeing a stray labrador getting mounted by a miniature poodle in a street median.
