Magnetic Fields, Beat Happening, Calvin Johnson, Built to Spill, Handsome Family, The Mountain Goats, Jens Lekman, Jason Anderson just to name a few. Anything bhangra or Bollywood. All old skool rap and hip-hop.

I read. A lot. The latest book that I adored was "Half of a Yellow Sun" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gay bar. Chelsea. 2007. The entire room erupts into a singalong of the Golden Girls theme song, "Thank You for Being a Friend." We all sing at the top our lungs, on repeat, as the former Blanche Devereaux walks through the bar.
