Learning, learning, learning.
I was born and raised in a small town in Germany. In grade 11 I took the chance to become an exchange student in Canada. I learned a lot during this time, most importantly I found the way to myself and came out gay. Back home in Germany this and the more liberal lifestyle the Canadians taught me, led to a lot of conflicts in my home. I didnt move out, but ran away from my feelings and myself for two years. I did not realize that at this age, so driven by motives of money, career and power I chose a reputable university, studying business. I came soon to realize, that the lifestyle my unimates were living, wasnt mine and the alumnis of my uni showed the same picture. Unsecure, I thought about dropping out, instead I decided to switch to economics. And here we go, this is me starting to follow my heart. I am currently writing a book, joined an acting class and work on LGBT-projects.Random things about me:- I have two nationalities- I used to play poker for $$$- A pig once lived with me- the delivery room I popped out is 50 metres from the sea- found 400€ once on the open street- I apparently sleep with my eyes open (couchsurfers observed that)
I made a choice against big money of the cost of my heart and feelings. So I try to do the things I really want and stop the things I dont want. I do struggle with that at times, I am still learning and developing the whole picture.
Some thoughts on "NORMAL":
Normal is a consensus of our society. What is "normal" can be blond hair in sweden and black hair in africa. It can be people eating cows in the US and people eating cats in parts of Asia. There is no global definition of it, because "normal" changes. However, if something is not "normal" people react with fear and insecurity and some as a result with hate.
The ones who change societies consensus of "normal" are laughed at and sometimes hated, when they live, but they are admired, after they died. Columbus. Wright brothers. Luther King.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf,I join meetings,I host.
In the summer of 2011 I travelled to Berlin and the US. At the beginning it was a cheap way to travel, but Couchsurfers soon turned me into one of them. Books were recommended to me and I was confronted with lifestyles completely different from mine. Partly through the exchange of views and the inspiration from others I came to realize, that my life needed some change and since then my life made a shift from doing things because of exterior wants to doing things because of matters from the inside. This has been an incredible change and I am still working on that. Also I had tons of fun, we partied in big cities, seen wonderful nature and made one or the other great friendship. With some of my cs-friends close friendships developed and I visit them again.
I enjoy reading, I have found this to be a new passion of mine. Also, a friend introduced me to his philosophical views, I might continue this path. I am always up for learning new things off mainstream and I am into sports. I snowboard, ski, snowkite, go to the gym and used to run and play badminton.

Flying in an airplane at night and seeing the clouds underneath lit up by the airplanes lights. Its amazing how technology evolved and what humans are able to do.
