My current mission is to make it in the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain! I am from a small, boring town in the US and want to see more of the world. I plan to land a job teaching English in Barcelona, work for awhile and hopefully travel more!
I am a recent college graduate putting off getting a real job to have an adventure and see the world! I hope to get a job teaching English in Barcelona. As part of transitioning my life overseas-I hope to make some real connections and contacts while searching for a job and permanent housing.
My personal philosophy is that the greatest lessons we have to learn about ourselves are from eachother. Putting yourself out there is the only way to meet new people and have new experiences. Change can sometimes be bad, but growth is always good!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a surfer seeking a couch.
I have had no previous CouchSurfing experiences, although have heard only wonderful things!
My current hobbies include traveling (obviously), trying (and not always succeeding) at learning Catalan and Spanish, cooking, reading, enjoying a good coffee and/or beer with friends, and learning/growing as a person.
Music, Movies, and Books
I am currently reading My Antonia by Willa Cather. I like a lot of American writers (Hemingway and Vonnegut). I also enjoy anything by Chuck Palaniuk or Chuck Klosterman. I still loving reading Philosophy, although I got my fair share of that in school. And of course I enjoy a good girly read from time to time-i.e. Sophie Kinsella :)
Movies and music are so vast to even mention-my tastes are constantly expanding and changing. I do however love all Baz Luhrman movies and musicwise am currently into Arcade Fire, Lykke Li, and the Shins.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my travels in India I was blessed by the temple elephant in the ancient town of Hampi (see photos).
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a native English speaker and am also certified to teach the language.
I can cook fairly well-I like trying new cuisines and recipes and would not be opposed to teaching a few things and/or preparing a meal or two!
I can talk "philosophize" i.e. talk, argue, listen, analyze. I like meeting new people and hearing different opinions.
