Hello!

I am an exchange student from America living in Aalborg Denmark. I study international cultural studies at Aalborg University and am living in Aalborg. I'm only here for a limited amount of time so I would like to see as many things as I can, and meet as many people as possible!

I am originally from a small town in the southern part of Georgia (about 10.000 people), but I have been living in Atlanta for the past year. I'm 22 and this is my 3rd year of collage, and I have one more left when I go home.

I love to party, but sitting back and enjoying a beer is pretty sweet too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm studying international cultures, and politics. So I spend most of my time trying to understand other cultures through the classroom. Couch surfing is a way for me to directly engage with people from different backgrounds on a more personal level. And just in my travel experience I have found that I really enjoy a place more through someone with a real connection with a place, instead of a cheep travel brochure.

Interests

I love music and jamming with people (though I currently do not have any instruments here). I love learning about people's cultures and ideas, especially their political views. Politics and news coverage is a big interest of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love new folk music like Mumford and Sons, and the Luminiers. I was faded on all of the classic rock bands, the Who, Stones, Bad Company, Qeen, and of course the Betles. But please bring your own play list or show me yours. I don't have much time to devote to finding quality music, so I would love to learn a few new bands.

I am a snobby scholar when it comes to reading, and predominantly just reads the news or nonfiction (I promise I won't make you listen to the news all day if I am around). If you do like to be informed tell me about your fave news outlets. Mine are the BBC, Vice International, French 24, Al Jazeera, and NPR to name a few.

If you don't like the news, or prefer fiction let me know. I am currently waisting my Netflix account because I don't know what to watch. So please share your favorite movies and shows. Mine are House of Cards, 30 rock, Gas Lands (a documentary) and the Cosmos (documentary series).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Irish Sea, stripping down after asking a local if it's cool, and diving in. Probably my fave Experiance so far. -Dalkey, Irland.

Teach, Learn, Share

As you might have learned from my taste in books and shows I love politics. Not in a preachy way ( like If you don't think like I do I'm not going to try to change your mind), but more in a fascination. It is interesting to see how people feel about their government and why. America is a large and weird country and I like to tell people about it and where I a come from with out being overly nationalistic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a bed and a couch, a full kitchen and I live 30 minute walk from town.
However, your welcome to use my bike, its a 10 min from town, and the buses are about 2 euros per trip. I will gladly help you get around as much as I can.
