About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get lost, to find myself. I want to discover the world and explore different cultures, and experience things I would never do back home.

ABOUT ME

Hiya! Thanks for looking at my profile!

My name is Charlotte and I'm 19. I was born in England but when I was nine I moved to Spain, for five and a half years. I grew up on the Costa Blanca, in a town called Javea- yes I do speak Spanish. It was incredible to grow up in a foreign country and has definitely given me a thirst for travel and exploring the unknown. From my travels I was to gain amazing experiences and meet loads of different, fun, and amazing people. I want to be able to come home and inspire people to travel and not to hold back on their dreams. When I tell people about my trip they always say to me "That's amazing, I wish I could do that", and I want to show people that it's completely possible! I would like to see different cultures, ways of living, religions, sights, and make memories that will last a lifetime. I want to see and do things that I've never done, or would even think of doing here in England, because really this is a once in a lifetime chance, and I don't want to look back and regret a single thing.

I love horses and enjoy horse riding (whenever I get a chance)and would love the chance to horse ride on the beach someday (one of my life goals). I also enjoy reading and writing stories, swimming and skiing (although I have skied in a while). I'm always up for new ideas and experiences- although nothing with heights! unfortunately I'm scared of them. I'm very hardworking and determined, for the last two and a half years I have worked full time (7days a week) and so now it's really time to do something for me.

I love animals, and partially grew up on a farm (including my four siblings ;) ) in total I've had 6 dogs, 23 cats, 5 hamsters, 1 gerbil, 1 turtle, and 4 rabbits. I also helped out at a horse riding stables for a year in Spain and England. Animals are so affectionate, if you give them love, they'll love you right back. Although I must say I'm not too keen on snakes or spiders (bad idea to travel to Australia then hu?

I like chatting to people randomly, like in the library, coffee shops, supermarkets, anywhere with people really. I like people that are independent, caring, adventurous, bold, creative and just want to have fun :)

This is my first time couch surfing and I'm doing it solo which makes me kind or nervous, but I'm hoping I can find someone friendly that I can trust and enjoy spending time and share stories with.

I would say I'm quite a relaxed person, and I much prefer eating dinner with good company, going to the cinema, theatre, ice skating, campfires than spending nights out partying Because you can't get to know people in a club with loud music (and lets be honest, you probably wouldn't remember the evening in the morning, not to mention the hangover) although I do enjoy the odd night out.

So now I'm not really sure what to write, so I'm going to tell you some facts about myself :) : I'm a vegetarian (and slightly worried how I'll cope in Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam- So if anyone has advice or experience it would be lovely to hear from you), I'm quarter Polish (and would love to go to Poland retracing my roots and meet family I never knew existed- this is another one of my life goals) My favourite foods are: Mozzarella (and most types of cheese), Olives, hash browns and oranges. I've probably read over 200 books at least once, I have a deferred university placement to study Psychology with child development next year, I would love to learn to cook and prepare meals from scratch (I can cook frozen food easily haha)I have four siblings three brothers and one sister, I am also a twin, my favourite colour is yellow.

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile! :)

PHILOSOPHY

Secrete confession: I love little inspirational quotes! I could easily fill this whole box with a few from my collection. I would say the one what relates to my personal philosophy is:

"Life is what you make it"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well creating an account is participating I suppose. I also want to share my knowledge and tips to anyone who needs help or advice. I can also teach people Spanish if they like :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never couch surfed before, but I'm looking forward to all the new people I'll meet and the new experiences I will have. And although I have some reservations, I'm hoping to meet fantastic people and create life long friendships.

Interests

Hobbies: Reading and writing stories, Horse riding, skiing, tennis, and swimming.
Things I want to do: ride and elephant bareback, camp in the outback, subadive in a coral reef, canoe, swim with dolphins.
Type of things I will do while travelling: Visit any world heritage sights, learn about different religions (especially in SEAsia) try and come of the mainstream path and see little nooks and cranny's of the country and less 'tourist sites'.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: To be completely honest I'm not that much of a movie fan, but here are some of the few movies that I've watched and enjoyed :P.S I love you, Avatar, I am legend, The hunger games, The notebook, A walk to remember.

Music: Well considering I have like 700 songs, it's not going to be possible to list them all :P but I like a lot of UK mainstream music like Tiny Tempah, Katy Perry, The Saturdays, Lady Gaga, Akon, Eminem.

Books: well I've probably forgotten half of the books I've even read, but some of my favourites are: 'Can you keep a secrete' by Sophie Kinsella, 'Marley and me', 'The secrete garden' 'between the lines' and the 'Merlin' series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well I absolutely loved jet skiing and professional go karting last year. I've climbed a mountain of steps, now it might not sound that exciting but if you had seen it you would know what I mean, I almost burst into tears halfway through, so I'm proud I did it. I haven't done that many amazing things, but I'm hoping to do loads on my trip.

Teach, Learn, Share

Will teach you Spanish if you want? Or to knit? I can also make a Pterodactyl call... but I'm not sure that's something I could teach. I once when I was little I did it in the street and a bunch of people looked up- I found it absolutely hilarious at the time. I would love to learn to surf or get a bit more practise horse riding as it's not something I do much now :)
