ABOUT ME

I enjoy sharing conversations with people, getting to know each other, especially in small groups. Nevertheless, I enjoy going out for a party, dancing in funny free ways, singing with friends (old funny French songs, sometimes saucy ("grivoises") and make people laugh and sing along. I studied a little drawing in the Art school of Lyon and would love to do watercolour for travellers.
I like cooking for friends : tajine, vegetable lasagnes, boeuf bourguigon, blanquette de veau, vegies in wok, cheesecake, charlotte, crumble, tarte tatin, tarte au citron, scones. . .

PHILOSOPHY

My aim in life is to develop the skill of seeing "the glass half full rather than half empty". It is sometimes really hard work for me. My goal is to enjoy what is beautiful, funny, humourous, shrewd, tasty, pleasurable while keeping a balance with my sense of justice and ethics : beware myself with honesty, kindness, courage as much as possible.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I have just registered, I don't know yet quite well how I can participate in CS project. Nevertheless, I hope I can get to meet people living nearby among various groups and activities : languages exchange, going to concerts, theater, restaurants, movies, hiking, singing, dancing, travelling, hosting. I am eager to get to know people, if possible, not just for one time, not as a consummer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Apart from couchsurfing in my family or at some friends, I do not have much experience in that field. I would like to get more confident so that I feel comfortable enough to surf on people's couches. I am a poor sleeper : that is one of the difficulty for me if I sleep on couches, in the middle of a living-room.

Dancing, singing, drawing, writing, reading, listening to the radio (France culture, France Musique. . .), watching TV (cultural programs as well as crappy soap operas... (It does work as a sleeping tablet. . .),hiking, cooking, meeting my friends, writing to the one who live far away, practicing rock-climbing, yoga. . . 我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When I was about 20, I took a trip around Europe in train, starting from Köln (Cologna) in Germany to Greece. I did not know that at that time of the year (May), youth hostels were packed because of many bank holidays. I went to Danemark, Sweeden and Norway at the beginning of this trip and could not afford anything else than youthhostel beds if I wanted to finish my six weeks trip. So, I was mostly sleeping in night trains from one capital to another.
I was exhausting, feeling lonely and scared when I arrived on early evening in Göttenborg. I felt desperate, wondering where I would end up, scared by young drunk people in the station when I got the courage to go to a middle aged couple and ask them if they knew where I could spend the night. They were sorry but did not know. Sadly, I went back to my sit. A while later, they came to me and offer me to stay at their place. They had a daughter about my age who was in France at that moment. They hoped that if she was in similar troubles in France, some trustworthy people would help her. For a few years, we exchanged a few Xmas cards. I will always be thankful to them.

I can teach French as a foreign language (It was my job for many years abroad and in France). I can speak English, Spanish, some Catalan and little Italian and Sweedish.
I can take people hiking around my place, around Lyon and many others places.
I can show people some relaxation techniques, how to cook a few recipes, share about the things and cultural matters I know.
