ABOUT ME

I am a constant traveler, I cook aboard luxury yachts, so I am constantly on the move, with no home of my own at present, but that will change soon. I am friendly, good natured and fun, but content to relax and stay mellow. I dance enthusiastically but not well, I am always happy to make food for friends, both old and new. I am an easy travel companion. I have very liberal views, but have an open mind to other points of view. I am an artist by7 nature, and appreciate beauty in all forms, and I am as comfortable in an urban setting as a rural one. I appreciate the conventional as well as the tabu. I respect personal space, and I am always happy to be corrected when it comes to local ways. I would rather stay low key and blend than stick out like a tourist. I always try to appreciate the generosity of others and reciprocate when I can.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that all religions have a few central tenants- be kind, dont steal, dont hurt people, and help where you can. This is the foundation for how I try to live, and on a more selfish note, I want to see everything. Try to say yes to all new experiences-except eating bugs, etc, and extreme sports. not my thing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new here, but I have a friend who has been a member for some time and loves this site, so I thought I would sign up! I have stayed around the world, mostly hotels, but plenty of couches. I love dropping into the day to day of a persons life and seeing how others live. I try to be a participant with out being an imposition.

Interests

I am open to all sorts of things. My background is in cooking and art(sculpture and painting) with a good deal of construction and carpentry. I love nature and new wild life, everything from coral reefs to deserts to jungles. Participating in regional ceremonies or celebrations makes me feel particularly privileged.

I love to read dull books nobody else like, generally history or science, and movies, I can watch anything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have met so many people and been so many places, this is hard to answer. I have sailed half the pacific and most of the caribbean. I have drank kava kava with actual bone in the nose tribesman in Vanuatu, I have met amazing artists and scientists, and amazing people in everyday life. I constantly find life amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always happy to cook for hosts, or help with carpentry or fixing things, and I am happy to share any knowledge I have. At the very least I usually buy toilet paper and clean up the kitchen.
