About Me

Hello! My name is Chelsea and I'm a traveler, artist, and writer. I'm what most people call a "free spirit" but I also have a good sense of work ethic and have worked a full time day job since I was 16. I'm a strict vegetarian and a not-so strict vegan. I don't do drugs or smoke, but i like to drink every so often. I'm a vintage collector (mostly clothing) and love to thrift. I'm also a DJ (all vinyl, mostly 45s, mostly 60s an Motown). I'm fun to be around and love to meet new people. I can (and will) talk to anyone. I like exploring new places, drinking coffee, and chatting about art, life, business, anything... I'm an open book if you'd like to know more

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in couch surfing for a week or two (multiple couches) while I get settled in my new home Los Angeles. I'm taking a big leap of faith that LA is where I need to be and I want to meet new people! I also would love to have a friendly local show me around. I wanna visit your favorite spots!

Interests

Where do I begin? I'd say that I'm mostly interested in people. Building strong connections with like minded folks. I come from a big family where dinner was both an event and a meal and everyone was always invited. I value kindness and empathy and try to live my life in a way that nurtures those qualities in myself and others. I just wanna find more of "my people"...

Music, Movies, and Books

I hesitate to write too much here because this is the kind of stuff that I think is better experienced rather than talked about. I'll play you my favorite record, loan you my favorite book, we can go watch movie... Then we'll talk. I'll list three of each (first that come to mind) just to give you an idea:

Music:
Angel Olson, Bruce Springsteen, and my record collection
Movies:
Listen up Phillip
Dumb and dumber
Ace Ventura (both)

Books:
Catcher in the rye
Grapes of wrath
The lives of others

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a DIY gallery/show space in Denver called the Inca house. The space created was short lived but brilliant in its ability to bring artists and musicians together, it was also really fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make great vegan food, I am also pretty good at origami. My current day job involves styling clients (both men and women) so if you need a little fashion help I can style you/ personal shop for ya!

I would like to learn about you.

I'd like to share my life experience and adventures through writing (maybe even about you)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm great company and I'm an open book. I'll share anything I've got.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico
