About Me

Stolen fruit is a dangerous thing

I'm a terrible host with terrible habits, I snore, I watch porn, I'm never on time and I hate traveling, brief, I'm a closed minded racist, avoid me at all price.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

less active in surfing now, but willing to host people if you visit my city. I am excellent in making tea, among other things...

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I went to Chernobyl to become a mutant and I partly succeed, I went to Greenland to search the eternal solitude and after 2 days I started missing people around me, I went to Iceland and took a bath in the blue lagoon, I was overwhelmed by the hospitality of the Brazilian people, no matter how little they had, I saw French people grimace when I damaged their vowels, I ate with people in the Town Ships in South Africa while watching the sunset, I flew around the Himalayan peaks, and enjoyed the jaw-dropping views, I jumped out of an airplane in Namibia without shoes and helmet, I debated with a crazy professor in Zimbabwe who thought he could philosophize the death back to life... I created hope, made people laugh, cry, I found my shoes, I fell in love

Well, I have some broad range of traveling experiences under my belt and I am ready to share my invaluable travel tips with you:

- When traveling to China be prepared that no one will speak English. And no one will understand your Chinese.

- When in China, one must try the fried seahorses, so says Chairman Mao.- In Greenland, numbers only go up to 12 - after 12 there is only amerlasoorpassuit (many). From 12 onwards you have to use Danish numbers.

- In the remote parts of Thailand, literally 100 of children are amused when western foreigner reply with "hello" when they say "hello", and laugh loudly among themselves

- When going to the Middle East, do not even dream you will get a visa for Saudi Arabia if you are not Moslem, KSA is also known as the world’s last great forbidden kingdom and the most racist country in the world. Well, not a big loss, since women are treated like a piece of shit anyway. In contrast Dubai is a great place to do some shopping and food is cheap, Dubai - do buy :)

- in Russia, smoking in your face is a national pastime, so always prefer tables outside.

- "Fermé" used to be the most common word in French, they love strikes.

- While it is difficult to have a bad-tasting meal in Italy, it is very easy to pay a lot of money for an average-tasting meal.

- In India, cows walk undisturbed in traffic, in train stations, even in the waiting room of a train station.

- Ukrainian people are friendly, but not necessarily helpful. For them a problem is part of life, it's interesting to know that there is such a problem, but finding a solution is not necessary.

- Ruins in Greece are ruins. even after 2000 years.-

Iranians are the most hospitable people I met in my life, forget about all the xenophobic, anti-Iranian propaganda dominating the media. If anything, all that Iranians can be accused of is excessive hospitality. So, when traveling to Iran, beware of innocent looking situations which could turn into the experience of your life. - As you walk the streets, do not talk to or make eye contact with anyone. If you do, they'll say hello to you and invite you to their homes. - If someone takes you to lunch, and the time comes for paying the bill, be ready. You'll have to grab the bill at whatever cost. Don't worry about grabbing, scratching, pinching or punching your host/opponent. In fact, you may see people at other tables in what appears to be fighting situations. Don't be alarmed. Those are simple struggles to pay the bill. It is really a fight to the death. But unlike the Western countries, in Iran whoever pays is considered the winner.

Camping in The Etosha National Park in Namibia was probably the most terrifying thing I have ever done, but also one of the most enjoyable, exciting holidays yet. There is a jungle etiquette that dictates that you are not going to get eaten unless you try to run away. I did wonder if the lions were aware of this. Hyenas are nasty things that don't really play the game. If you leave your shoes outside the tent they will steal them. They love the smell. If you put them inside the tent they will come in to get them and possibly eat you too. I was terrified for most of the time in the park, but I loved the experience.

Tipping in New York, it might be acceptable to tip a dollar regardless of the bill in the rest of the country, but a thing like that could get you killed in New York. Here, 18 to 20-percent tipping in restaurants and taxis is standard and expected. So, if your dinner bill is $35, leave at $7 tip (3.5×2). At bars, leave a dollar per drink. Don’t, and you’ll have to wait forever to get served, if the bartender will serve you at all. And never leave coins as a tip. That’s not even real money, here
