About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make the most of my time in New Zealand and Australia

ABOUT ME

Me, Chloé : I am a 25 woman, I like to talk politics but not all night long. I like visual arts and I like to use my creativity and my hands to make pretty things. I have learnt weaving and bone-carving while in NZ, patchwork while in Nicaragua, and watercolour/painting/drawing as a child and then a teen. I enjoy outdoors, hiking and skiing, and others funny stuff although bungy jumping and other aerial things scare me. Somebody said about me that I either talk too much or too little and that is probably very true. I also love cooking and have my friends enjoy all together a good meal along with good wine, or good juices if they dont drink alcohol. I am a bit of a travel addict.
Pierre : 26, I enjoy meeting and sharing good time with open minded people (with good food and nice wine). I like listening to music and don't have a favorite music style (just like good music). I played the clarinet when I was young and will try to play again (after my travels). I am very interested in photography and started taking photos 2 years ago.
I also love the sea, and did a lot of sailing when I was young.

Us : We do a lot of things together and hide very little from each other. We like outdoors and we find that going to museums from time to time does not hurt, and we like cultural things, watching movies and reading.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy while you can !

Interests

Travelling, getting to know other people and other cultures. Arts and Crafts : I just like doing nice things with my hands, although I am lazy sometimes. My partner, with whom I travel, is into photography, and sailing, and music (he plays the clarinet). We both like hiking and outdoors. And we LOVE good food and good wine !

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite random. We read everything from classics to mangas and travel guides. We listen to anything from classical music to rap and rock, as long as it makes shiver. We watch anything from animated features (Pixar or Japanese) to action movies or things like Lord of War, and of course comedies like Asterix. We think World Cinema has a lot to offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Spending money we don't really have to have a wonderful seafood meal and excellent wine in a very good restaurant in Kaikoura, and having not a shadow of regret.
- Leaving our jobs and daily routine life to go abroad for one year, selling everything to start from scratch elsewhere, and meeting people you did not expect to meet because they are so different from you, but who makes you change the way you think about life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Me, I can teach basis of weaving with NZ flax (flowers and baskets), provided there is flax to harvest around. Probably some drawing, patchwork, cooking, bread-baking, a bit of computer stuff (graphics stuff) and mathematics.

Pierre can teach lots about computers, websites making, linux and crazy stuff like having colors in a terminal while installing a crazy OS. He has been a sailing teacher so he can teach that very well, he used to race as a child, also. He can also teach you some photography, his actual camera is a Pentax K10. Visit our website on occasion to see what he does (http://alcleoblog.alwaysdata.net).

Pierre would like to learn about organic gardening.
I would like to learn more cooking, more hand-crafting stuff, like knitting, sewing, more weaving. And why not gardening.
