Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm a touring solo musician looking to meet some great people along the way!
ABOUT ME
After seeing Herbie Hancock's Future Shock video in 1982, I've decided I wanted to figure out how music works. Years later, I compose and improvise my own music on trombone and computer software of my own creation, traveling around giving concerts and workshops.
PHILOSOPHY
Peace...it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart. - unknown
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy learning from others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've toured to the East Coast with my partner, traveling to Yoga studios where we gave concerts of Kirtan, an eastern Indian tradition of chanting. While traveling, we stayed at the studio owners' houses or those of members of the studios' community. We had a great time meeting new and interesting people and enjoying the cultural exchange. I've also toured on my own as a solo artist to multiple cities in the United States, staying with local musicians. I really enjoy the diversity of people and the generosity I've run into along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books
When I have time to watch movies it's, documentaries, comedies, TV shows. I'm currently going through my partner's complete "West Wing" series. I'm also reading a book on the history of minimalist composers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being in Berlin for 3 months was pretty amazing! I was almost able to carry on a full conversation in German before I left.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am very knowledgeable about a variety of musical traditions including classical, jazz and experimental. I teach music courses at University of New Mexico and at an arts organization in Albuquerque called The New Mexico Jazz Workshop. I also love listening to podcasts including "Radiolab", "Stuff You Missed in History Class", and "Freakonomics"
