ABOUT ME

I am a college senior, who wants to travel and explore before deciding what to do next: graduate school or the peace corps or living in a tree hut in the rainforest.

I try to be respectful to everyone. I'm a friendly person, but I am shy during the first meeting.

I'm willing to play host for people, but I can't wait to try out couch surfing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't yet had the experience of couch surfing, but hopefully the opportunity will come up soon!

I met a couple of guys a few years ago who were couch surfing from California to Canada and from the stories they told, it sounded like they had an amazing time!

Interests

Looking at the ground while hiking, or snowshoeing, then identifying interesting rocks or plants.
Trying not to look foolish while mountain biking or slacklining.
Backpacking the Southern Montana portion of the Continental Divide Trail.
Growing my own garden.
Learning about new cultures and trying new foods--the stranger the better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going on a night hike in the rain forest in Tortuguero, Costa Rica. The guide made the group of us college students stand in the dark for a five minutes to allow our other senses take over. It was terrifying for the first minute, but it was amazing how alive the rainforest is at any given moment. Sounds of howler monkeys howling in the distance, the of insects flying, frogs croaking, and the rustle of leaves in the wind flooded my ears. I have never felt so insignificant, and yet so apart of the environment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy everything to do with the natural world. The rocks which forms the soil, which provides nutrients for plants, which the large charismatic megafauna eat...

I'm a pretty avid knitter and I enjoy sharing my love of creating hats, socks or neck warmers!

If I have a surplus of organically grown vegetables and herbs in the summer I am more than willing to share.
