About Me

Hi I am Chris. I just graduated from the University of Texas with an Electrical Engineering degree. I used to live in a co-op in Austin with 18 other people and we loved to host cool and interesting people. I have just begun my travels and can't wait to see the world and all of the beautiful people that inhabit it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently headed around the world and love getting off of the beaten track and hanging out with local people. I also love making new friends and find that those who travel or host travelers usually have really big hearts :)

Interests

I love reading, writing, hiking, gardening, cooperative living, playing guitar and keyboard, feminism, mysticism, yoga and meditation, gender ambiguity, and tinkering with electronics. I also built a 3D printer. That said I am very conflicted about technology and the way humans have over consumed our resources. After 4 years of studying engineering I have decided that I don't know if that it is the right path for me, that said I hope to have a path elucidated during my travel so that I may come back knowing what I want to do with my life :).

Cats Cradle, Confederacy of Dunces, Clockwork Orange, Left Hand of Darkness, Island, Brave New World, The Doors of Perception, The Illuminatus Trilogy to name a few

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've helped a friend remove a golf ball sized tumor from his right calf, suffice it to say we failed and he ended up having to go to the doctor, albeit we did remove a small pea sized portion before he passed out! I also got lost in a jungle in Borneo for 20 hours during the rainy season and had to improvise a fire and shelter/ find my way back through the jungle.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ive got mad song writing skillz, I am gonna use this section to promote my band: slowhop.bandcamp.com

What I Can Share with Hosts

Electronics and computer programming/security skillz. Cooking skills (I cook every week for 20+ people), gardening skillz, maintenance skillz (I used to manage my co-ops maintenance work) and some awesome weird homemade comic skills...
