About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life, explore, enjoy the simple things, create friendships, and above all, be happy.

ABOUT ME

Hello fellow travellers!

My name is Chrystal and I'm from Toronto, Canada. I'm really easygoing, open minded, friendly, outgoing and honest gal in my mid-twenties. I love a good adventure and am excited to learn and experience new things, making new friends along the way. I'm quite active and really like getting outside and enjoying what our Earth has to offer - if I can walk it, I'm walking it!!

Like a lot of us on here, I love to travel and have spent the past few years doing everything I can to do exactly that. I've lived in Hawaii a couple of times (one of my favourite places on the planet) working at hostels, lived in Munich as an au pair and have traveled throughout Europe, South East Asia an a few other places here and there in North and Central America. This time it's myself and my boyfriend, Joe taking off on an adventure to Oahu.

When it comes to couch surfing, I am very respectful and would always treat your home as though it were my own. I'm super flexible and completely open to the hosts schedule, rules, sleeping arrangements etc. I can sleep just about anywhere so I'm definitely a no frill kind of girl :) I really like to connect with the people I stay with and hope to see them come through Toronto as well.

PHILOSOPHY

I hate society's version of "real life". I don't want to spend my able years commuting to, then sitting behind a desk of a job that I dislike for 40+ hours a week. I want to live and experience what life really has to offer. To me, it's much more valuable than monetary possessions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I have a really small place right now and am unable to host anyone. I don't even have a full sized couch! I really hope to be more involved here in Toronto whenever I have a bigger place though. I'd love to help others just like others have helped me!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have couch surfed a couple times and each time was an amazing experience. The hosts were lovely and welcomed me each time. Although it's not at all expected, it's always nice to be shown around the area, or to even spend some time together, and really get to know the host and make a lasting friendship.

Interests

Music, guitar, piano, travel (of course), adventures, colour, meeting new people, exploring, hiking, camping, anything outdoors - preferably in the warmth, beaches, friends, family, reading, decorating, repurposing, health, cooking, EATING, stars/space, ocean, I could go on and on but these are some.

Music, Movies, and Books

Very open to all books, music and movies - Step Brothers. One of my favourites is The Alchemist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

8 hour hike thorugh a volcano, ending at the top, watching the sunset from above the clouds at 10000ft. Beautiful.

Snorkeling in the coral on Roatan Island then swimming through the bioluminescent creatures at night.

Watching the Eifle Tower sparkle for the first time at night thinking, "I finally did it". I'll never forget that night!

Road tripping through the Road to Hana then around the south side, music blasting, great friends beside me with the most beautiful scenery around every corner.

Sitting on the temples and pagodas of Bagan, watching the sun rise and set over the sprawling fields of temples.

Teach, Learn, Share

A warm, friendly, fun person to have around your place but on top of that, very open to helping out in any way - cooking, cleaning, gardening, advice, storytelling, good company, friendship.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Greece, Honduras, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Vatican City State
