To exhaust my bank account traveling through Europe before returning to my poor college student life in the USA

ABOUT ME

My name is Ciera, I'm 20 year old student from Boulder, Colorado, USA, currently spending the semester studying abroad at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England.

I currently study English Literature, with an emphasis on Middle English and folk lore, Political Science, and Anthropology, with an emphasis on primatology.

My plan after finishing college is to join the Peace Corp and teach English to children in either Eastern Europe or Vietnam.

PHILOSOPHY

Recently I went to visit my great grandmother in rural Indiana. She's lived a very rough life; having spent 65 years in a loveless, bitter marriage. When I saw her she imparted these words on me: “Don’t you ever let a man tell you what to do. Don’t ever let someone else get in the way of your life. You live your life. You do what you want, no matter what anyone says, and you make something of yourself. Because one day you’re going to end up in this bed, and when you do, you don’t want to spend your last moments thinking that you should have done something different.”

I've been living by these words ever since and have been trying my best to live each day to it's fullest so that when I come to the end of my path, I know that I did everything I could have and lived a full, experience, joyful life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never ever, in my entire life, couchsurfed before. If my mother knew I was couchsurfing she would ring my neck, but hostel prices can add up quickly when you have a wanderer's heart so I thought I would give couchsurfing a shot.

兴趣

I love primates, zombies, nature documentaries, and cooking.

I love to cook; it's one of my favorite, and most expensive, past times. I also love to eat almost as much as I love to cook, which doesn't help my poor college student bank account. I'm a vegetarian, but will occasionally make an exception for an especially tasty or unique meal.

I love to exercise and particularly love to cycle. Back home in the USA I have a 1964 Schwinn bike that I ride to school almost every single day.

I am also a very big comic book nerd and have been since I was 10 years old. My biggest complaint as a child was that there weren't enough female superhero action figures and my biggest complaint, to this day, is that there are not enough strong, female superhero figures.

I've watched Humpback Whales bubble net feed for over an hour while off the coast of Juneau, Alaska.

You can't account for every little detail of the future. You can't plan your life or your dreams around things that are still unknown to you; you just have to sit back and let each day be its own special, spectacular thing and figure things out along the way.
