ABOUT ME

I am on the cusp of turning the big 3-0, I grew up in the same town all my life but have always aspired to travel more. I'm hoping this opportunity will be an impetus for me to begin a new career, or maybe discover who I want to be.

I am an interior designer and in the process of transferring into the local roller derby league in my new town (I played roller derby in San Antonio). I'm also a member of various design organizations related to my profession.

PHILOSOPHY

Not only am I looking for introspection through this experience, but also an opportunity to learn more about others and experience new environments.

I am brand new to this site but hope to participate once I get my feet wet!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no surfing experiences yet, but I recently moved to Ft. Worth, TX in April. I think moving made me realize there is so much to see out there, and I want to be more involved in the wonderful things the world has to offer. I'm looking for an adventure!

I have traveled in the past, I have been to Italy, Spain, France, Holland and Mexico. Within the states I have been to Louisiana, California, Florida, Utah, Colorado, Tennessee and Nevada. I'd like to double this list of places I've been by next year. I'd also like to branch out into more international travel as well. I would love to go to Thailand, Argentina, Germany, Vancouver and many other places.

Intereses

I live alone with my dog, I'm right next to a river with a jogging trail, so I'm always doing some outdoor activity. I guess you could say that I love the outdoors!

I also love to go to museums, games, shows, checking out live music and attending art openings.

Música, películas y libros

Movies - I tend to like goofy comedies, I also like foriegn movies, action/adventure.

Music - I'm open to everything! My favorites are mostly, Depeche Mode, U2, Gorillaz, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Killers, Muse, also 60's/70's rock, Motown. I seriously like music from just about every genre though!

Books - I tend to gravitate towards self help books (No, I don't need any!) lol. You won't catch me reading anything too deep, but I like reading about starting your own business and I love coffee table books and design/architecture books. You won't catch me reading too much fiction, for some reason.

I really loved sky diving and would love to do it again, I love rockclimbing because being outside is so calming. I would love to explore caves and experience camping in the mountains. I'd like to go backpacking and maybe just travel the world for a month!

I suppose I can teach you how to skate! Haha, I don't know, this is a tough question, I have so many interests I'm having trouble quantifying what they are right now. Maybe if someone could teach me to have a little more direction, that would be nice!

I can inspire people not to quit on their dreams, I can help them appreciate the simpler things in life (I hope)!
