When asked about passion, my answer is always "Intercultural Communication." Surrounded by languages, food, and conversations of travels and hosting alike, I'm drawn to the human connection of storytelling. An education in Engineering and Journalism has led to a 20+ year profession in Documentary Filmmaking and Creative Advertising. Both career and curiosity have opened the door to spending months at a time experiencing the world. Visiting unmet friends in Europe. Laughing with twelve orphaned children in India as they see their new home for the first time. Broken-Spanish conversations with a Beatles fan in Mexico City. Each opportunity fueling anticipation of someday living abroad. Amongst all those trips, France left the deepest impression.
In June, I am moving to Paris :0)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In 2011, Couchsurfing introduced me to a family I never knew existed... all over the world. That experience left a smile so bright and contagious. Now it's time to find that smile again with others who hold the very same spirit of cultural exchange.
Laughing. Smiling. Living.
Sometimes those interests are the hardest to maintain, but it's always worth the effort.
Lately I've been fascinated by Light Field photography, Spatial Audio, and Artificial Intelligence; purchased a couple Lytro Illum cameras, a trippy little 360 microphone, an experimental pair of immersive headphones, and started experimenting with how all these can be used together to create Cinemathemagic. Music, Movies, and Books
book: "A Walk Across America" by Peter Jenkins
movie: "Surfer, Dude" - it's one of the worst rated films of all time, and I absolutely love it.
