ABOUT ME

I finished up a BA in the States (Virginia) in 2010 before taking a year in Mainz, Germany to research the early modern German book trade and figure out exactly what I want do as a historian. I'm now in Baltimore working on an MA/PhD in the early modern Atlantic world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was on my college debate team and spend just about every weekend on someone's dorm floor at a different college or university. It's how I made most of my college friends. Meet some interesting people in Germany while on a research trip to Bamberg.

Interests

Music - mostly 19th century Romantics.
Languages - navigating German grammar, learning how to not make a fool of myself in French.

I cannot live without books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During the last month of high school, my three (to this day) best friends travelled to San Francisco for a journalism conference. We skipped out on the conference and spent the entire time bumming around the city. I can't imagine a better use of my time.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a child I was trained as a classical pianist and try to keep up (and share) my musical education. Love learning new languages.
