CURRENT MISSION

I have always wanted to travel, and I haven't to an extent, but I definitely want to give it a go! I love meeting new people, sharing experiences and learning new things!

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Lansing, MI and lived there through all of my schooling. I moved to Hawaii when I was 23 and lived on Oahu for a year and was a nanny for a precious 2 year old boy. I then moved to North Carolina without a job in hopes that my physical presence would land me one, and it did. I've been there for two years now and this year I will begin my third year teaching first grade. I love my job and I love being around people.

PHILOSOPHY

I think a poem I wrote recently fits in here nicely...

WOVEN

Our life is like one giant tapestry
Always changing, always expanding
Each person we meet is woven into our hearts in some way
Each thread as unique in color as the person it represents
Rich blues overlap one another, fading in and out as they forever intertwine
Pinks melt into reds and oranges, while black speckles white
Some colors find themselves weaving in and out, over and under, without ever reaching the end of the spool
Others appear only for an instant
Just as we never know how long we have on this earth, we never know how long others will be in our world
We were put on this earth for a purpose, which is to live each and every day as if were our last
Life is too short to be anything but happy, so take your thread and weave it into as many tapestries as you can
I like to think my thread is a brilliant yellow, spreading its light and warmth into the lives of everyone I meet

I think life is meant to be lived. I think everyone that comes into our life does so for a reason and I am always looking for ways to connect with new people, even for a short period of time.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to CouchSurfing, but am totally in love with the idea. I love meeting new people and helping people out. I believe in karma and CouchSurfing is a great way to work on karma. Someday I'd love to travel internationally!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have been a bookworm my entire life. I love memoirs, realistic fiction, young adult literature, or just about pretty much anything. I'm the same with music. I'll listen to anything. I actually have a bad habit of blurting out the title and artist of a song within seconds of it coming on. I just love music!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving over the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can say the 50 states in alphabetical order in about 20 seconds. I can solve the Rubik's cube and have taught several others how as well. I love hugs and making people smile. I love to trade books and talk about them with friends.
