CURRENT MISSION
To do a "test run" for using couchsurfing.org for my upcoming concert tour--and to meet new, fun and wonderful people!
ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm excited to be a new member of the couchsurfing community! I'm looking forward to meeting so many new people as I (eventually) travel across the US and all over the world.
About me...hmmm...I'm pretty low-maintenance, easy going, enjoy great conversation and I'm in a hugely transitional time of my life, shifting gears and all that comes with making major life changes. I'm pretty drama-free and I love all of the work that I do, which is full of variety and very fulfilling.
Right now, I'm doing a "test run" to see how well I enjoy doing the couch surfing thing, which I'm considering as a way to meet a lot more amazing people when I launch my solo concert (piano and vocal) tour scheduled for this summer.
I'm starting here in San Diego, since I'll still be working during this test period and this is where I currently live. Since I'm new to this site, I'm still going through all of the verification steps, but I assure you I am safe and enjoyable to be around. :-)
I look forward to meeting you in person!
PHILOSOPHY
1. We do what we know. When we know better, we do better. ~ Dr. Maya Angelou. (I've always loved this saying and truly believe it.)
2. Life is more colorful when spending it with people we love.
3. I've never heard even a single story reported that on someone's death bed, them declaring "I wish I had spent more time at work." I believe life is meant to be an interactive sport instead of standing by, watching it pass in the sole pursuit of money.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, I'm just surfing, but, if it turns out I really like this experience, I'll be hosting as well in the future when I'm a little more settled living-space wise and have a couch/bed/etc. to offer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've always loved visiting friends and family and have spent time on several occasions sleeping on their couches and/or guest rooms. What I love most about this is that it's casual and gives us an opportunity to talk, laugh and be sociable in a way we wouldn't be if I were staying in a hotel instead. I have wonderful people in my life and enjoy spending physical, in-person time with them rather than just all over-the-phone or online/technology-based communication. I've never couch surfed with anyone I didn't already know, so I'm looking forward to creating some new experiences with great people!
Interesses
Reading, writing, watching TV, going to movies, playing the piano and singing (of course!), spending time with people I love and enjoy, hanging out with my two sweet and adorable nephews (they keep me young and help me remember to not take life too seriously), and anything involving the water. I LOVE the ocean in particular. My all-time favorite way to spend my time is talking for hours with a good friend on the beach with the waves crashing in the background, particularly in the late afternoon, early evening and at night (if it's warm enough) when the beach is quieter and almost nobody else is around. This, to me, is absolute heaven on earth. I also love to go exploring around pretty much any body of water. I also love supporting people in making a great living working for themselves instead of being employed by other people, if that's what they desire. This is a HUGE passion of mine!

Músicas, Filmes e Livros
I love all types of movies, though I don't watch anything that's rated R for religious reasons. Some of my favorites are Beaches, really great psychological thrillers like "What Lies Beneath", and all of the Harry Potter movies. I love creative story lines.
With music, I enjoy pretty much anything but alternative, rap and country. I don't currently have any favorites, but the Foreigner 4 album totally rocks!
Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz
I had the opportunity last year to create a fundraiser for a dear friend who was born with Cystic Fibrosis and was in the final stages of the disease and would have died without a heart and double-lung transplant. Through the use of social media and simple word-of-mouth communication, the fundraiser lasted for 30 days and we were able to raise a huge amount to help pay for her transplant and she is doing beautifully post-transplant, including being able to run and play with her 5-year-old little boy whom she miraculously naturally conceived and carried almost to term with no major complications for either of them. The best part of the fundraiser, though, was seeing people all over the world participate, not only by supporting our fundraiser but creating fundraisers of varying sizes ranging from lemonade stands and running 5K's to raising funds getting sponsored to climb Mt. Everest to a huge on-site community event filled with tons of amazingly gifted people from musicians to artists to cooks and chefs. To see so many people come together from all over the world to unite to help save the life of this dear friend of mine and to see how many other types of fundraisers that were inspired by us simply launching a fundraiser of our own and getting the word out was truly inspiring and incredibly humbling. Never again can I say that my existence in this world hasn't made an impact. Everyone should have such an opportunity to truly get the impact they can have and that they are an important piece of this puzzle called life. Truly an amazing experience.

Piano lessons, life coaching, business/entrepreneurial coaching, having someone to talk to and feel heard, someone to brainstorm and bounce ideas off, someone to laugh with, someone to speak English with if you're working on being more confident and comfortable speaking English. Whatever you need support with, just ask. If I can do it, I'm happy to share it.
