I write and I speak around the world, and I share what I learn with everyone I meet. Just ask anything. I'll have an opinion or point you in the direction to learn.
I am open minded, not much is off the table as we experience life just once, and meet as many unique and amazing people to add to our memories.
For 20 years I've been travelling the world. I love it.
In the last few years, I've found the desire to connect with people around the world and CS has given that, for sure. I can help people start writing or speaking. You may find that I am really passionate about learning people's travel stories, their relationships, their reasons for following the path of freedom.
Which is why I travel, it is my expression of freedom from the constraints of others idea of a normal life.Wherever you are on your journey, connect with people and share each others values and purpose.
Learn from me as I will from you.
I travel a lot. My philosophy is about eating local, drinking local, staying local. Talk to the locals. Learn from them.
Use the philosophy of travelling and enjoying it, not touristing and leaving after just taking photos. I like to be in the photos, creating memories.
I prefer to catch up with people in their city even when I am staying in a hotel.
My personality means I get bored easily and I love the interaction of conversation.
I think that you can do anything, you make it happen though, it doesn't just land like a welcome mat on your front door. Sometimes you hunt it down, sometimes you maximise your opportunities.
Life is waiting for you. Live it. No regrets when you look back.
Greet people as family, like everyone, love some, enjoy the moment and be exhausted and happy at the end of the day. Be passionate in your love. Give it everything.
I met a lot of amazing people in the last 10 years ago here, and many I am still in contact with.
I would recommend with travellers, make sure you make friends that last. Love them deeply, even when they just cross your path for a few hours or a few days. You just never know when you need them around the world, or meet again and reconnect with what you built.
I love to share a bed, share a meal, share a family celebration. I'll talk your ear off and listen all night.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I advocate for the trust of our fellow men and women around the world, and defend our right to be open and welcoming. Hospitality is a home away from home, with all that entails.
For me the meeting of new friends and people to like and love and remember is the true experience of life.
We are all equal. LGBT, Red, white, brown, black and yellow. All equal.
I have hosted and stayed with and slept in beds and on mats and in rooms and tents and in the open air with male, female, gay and straight, Asian, European, Russian, American, South American and so many more.
I love that life has brought me amazing people to know and build lifelong relationships with.
CS gave me and my kids a family feeling like I've never felt before.
In the last 4 years especially I've hosted a lot, and probably surfed a bit less, so I am surfing again now. 2012/13 was a record with over 200 people hosted for me. And with some staying 2,3,4,12 weeks, over 1000 nights worth of accomodation shared in one year alone.
Had many nations represented in those that have stayed for a night or 10. Chile, Spain, Italy, Sweden, USA, Canada, Germany, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, England, Singapore, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Guatemala, Austria, Poland, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Argentina, Brazil.
When I stay with people I like to be as generous as I can be - I have always aimed to be a good guest, bringing small gifts, cooking, sharing stories and inspiring as best I can.
I will host again when I can. Right now living in a 1BR apartment in the CBD in Brisbane. It's small and the break from travel is an oasis.
Friends, reading, training, travel, beaches, food, moving house... not sitting still. I love education, real experiences, and happy moments that I will remember forever.
I love to see new places, and create new favourite cafes, spas, massage spots, beaches, thrills, adventures, and then go back again and again.
I have two grown children, and now with one on the way I have a new cycle starting for a #worldschool child and free travelling family.
Let's be direct. When we only have one or two hours or days to meet, I want to know what makes you tick so I will ask questions to discover who you are and what makes you who you are.
Every traveller has a new perspective on life, living, freedom and independence. That inspires me. Look forward to hearing yours.

Music, Movies, and Books
I stick to The Alchemist as my favourite book because it inspires me to choose alchemy in changing my world.
I love my childhood books, the high school essay books, and the modern classics of self-help and business development.
I listen to EDM, dance, pop, and artists that help me write faster.
Some days I'll take in Armin van Buren, other days some Skrillex. Consistently EDM that helps me think and move and grow and keep up with the pace of life.
Then when I chill, I'll search Spotify for Chillout songs and playlists.
Movies - I'm a boy. I like action and adventure. I love a romance. I love comedy. I watch European films, Hong Kong kung fu and Japanese Anime. I am a mixed bag.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swam in the Mediterranean at 3am floating and staring at the stars.
Got covered in mud and paraded through a festival naked at Confest.
Built a mud brick home with a friend.
Kept going when I could have stopped.
Teach, Learn, Share
I give people the confidence to speak in public.
For 16 years I've showed people this and trained it in over a dozen countries.
Happy to teach about Australia, Aussies, culture, location, language.
I'm always learning about new countries. Language, culture, food, friendships.
I want to live my life and meet as many people as possible.
