About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to pay attention, to write everything down, to live by kindness
ABOUT ME
I am a freelance writer, who was once a domestic violence counselor and sex-worker advocate. I left that to go to school and very nearly became an anthropologist. I liked anthropology because what an antrhopologist does is they go places, live there as fully as they can, and write every thing down in notebooks. Gee, I thought, like I do already. Then I discovered that anthropologists are also academes with hunched shoulders and pale skin who have difficulty talking with others, and I left school to just live off my writing, now. I try to focus on social justice issues, but write a lot of garbage to pay the rent.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am working on having a decent couch available. Right now it's a hardwood floor. If you're okay with that, you are welcome. Brooklyn is amazing, my neighborhood is fantastic, and I love to host. And my dog loves new friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None, so far. I was told by a friend that the site works well, and that she had met wonderful people. Here's hoping.
Interests
Place, history of it and current use. How it smells and what people do in it.
Stories. Who the folks are that hold up the corner of the building, where they came from, what they care about.
Oh I guess I like things that most people like: very good friendships, very good meals and sometimes cooking them, art and music and literature and good talk.
