About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission with CouchSurfing is to move back to the East Coast of the United States. I was raised there, my older sister (along with a lot of relatives) all live out there. I just really want to start my life out there.

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Colyn. I'm currently trying to relocate back to Chesapeake, Virginia, which is my primary reason for using CouchSurfer right now. I will most likely use it in the future when I'm settled down to travel the world, as I'm sure much of you do here. I really absolutely love dogs, cats are fine too, but digs win. :) I like to have a great time just hanging out with people and I usually go with the flow as long as it's good, clean fun. I'm generally quite when I first meet a new person, but the more you talk to me the more I will open up, and I do open pretty quickly. A philosophy I like to live by is, how are you going to trust me if I don't trust you? I'm very passionate about my life and everything in it, i.e. friends, music, and just learning and absorbing as much as I possibly can. That's pretty much me in a jumbled nutshell.

PHILOSOPHY

I have many philosophies. One, as I stated earlier, is trust everyone first. You may find that a lot of them will take advantage of you and your trust, but the ones that don't, those are the ones that you should truly cherish for the rest of your life.

Another philosophy is be spontaneous. You never know what you'll get out of life if you live it planned and linear.

One that someone told me while I was learning to hit baseballs, but I've found can be applied in real life is, "Get there early. You can always get there early and wait, but you can never get there late and wait."

My personal favorite and last philosophy, learn as much as possible. It will all come in handy in the future and you always want to be well equipped.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently just looking for one gracious host to give their couch out to one grateful person.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, so far, but hoping to find the greatest there can possibly be!

Interests

Interests include: music, mostly noise to other people as I like the metal genres and the electro genres; hanging out with fun people; exploring new interests; being spontaneous! Not enough people out there are spontaneous anymore; religion, as I am very religious but also very open minded to other religions; making others happy is what makes me happy; and pretty much anything as long as it is clean and wholesome.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Abandon All Ships, Asking Alexandria, As I Lay Dying, Avicii (and all his aliases), Armin Van Buuren, Benny Benassi, Borgore, Blackmill, Daft Punk, David Crowder, Deadmau5, Firelight, Flux Pavilion, Hillsong United, Hollywood Undead, Killswitch Engage, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, System of a Down, Tiesto, and Wolfgang Gartner. (I said I was passionate about music.)

Movies: Horror! I love the horror genre and any A-rate horror movies. Individual favorites are Big Fish, Dark Knight, A Beautiful Mind, Sean of the Dead, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and that's about it that I can think of right now.

Books: I honestly don't read very many books. I do like a few though. A Million Little Pieces, My Friend Leonard, Blue Fingers: A Ninja's Tale, and Heaven is for Real.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing seen or done... When I was six years old, I was brutally attacked by a dog, a rottweiler. I was with a friend who had a bike, and it was getting time to be home soon, so I asked him if I could borrow his bike when we got to his house. He said fine and rushed over to secure his dog that had jumped over his back fence. I turned around and started riding away, and the dog broke free from his owner and humped, pushing me off the bike. As soon as I hit the ground the dog was on top of me. Within five minutes the dogs jaws were an inch from my throat, and at that moment a man came over and kicked the dog off of me, saving my life! He just walked away when the paramedics told him I was going to be fine. A week later, this man showed up at my house to make sure I was doing fine, and then again walked away, leaving no information for my family to repay him or even asking for a simple "Thank you."

Quite easily the most amazing thing I've been witness to up to this point in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Although I do learn by random, I can't really think of anything to teach anyone at this time. I would have to get to know the person better to even attempt to teach them anything. I don't want to risk offending anyone.
